Yeah, at least one round over 13 mph seems to be par for the course now. I think I have 8 plays on the CC course and 4 plays on the non-CC course and I have not seem winds over 12 yet. Next week I think I'm going to keep track and keep a tabulation of winds. I really think that the probability of getting a 14+ mph wind course in practice is 5 percent or less. Have you tried creating your own tour for practice?
I've done this for the last 2 courses, and usually I get at least one round with 15-20mph winds, sometimes two.

Nah, not a fan of Isla Recasa at all. I mean, it's a great design and kudos to the creator, but not my cup of tea. Looks like I'll be back over par again.

I like some of the holes, but there are a fair few on there that make me grind my teeth. Just managed -4 under with 7-10 winds. I even managed to turn an eagle attempt into a bogey on the second after some stinky work with the putter, and I find that the easiest hole.

Agree- it's a beautiful course, and very polished, but I haven't cared for it too much in terms of playability. God only knows what it will be like when the tropical storm winds are in action

Yeah, I've strolled around it twice and think I was just under par each round.. Was just whacking and moving along to get a feel for the course.. Not much concentration.. Add some major wind to that course and scores will soar.. Could be tougher than Loa Pali was..

If anyone gets a flat lie on this course can they take a screen shot of it. No screen shot = it didn't happen.

Otherwise you might be SOL on that request. #2 and the long par 4 over a body of water (can't remember which hole, but maybe #14?) are the only two greens with any sort of flat putt towards the hole that I can think of. Oh, I got -14 yesterday with a bogey on #9. Small landing area + tailwind = rolling past the pin and off the green because what the hell is with that severe slope. I guess you have to go severely right of the pin if you want a birdie putt on a tailwind.

Just shot a 71 in 15-18 mph winds. This will be my 7th tournament and it's my least favorite course by far.

This course just is not tournament quality. It's way too fantasy. The one downhill par 3 is so ridiculously fantasy, it's not even funny.
I'm sorry if you made this course, it's good, just not tournament quality.

I'm sorry if you made this course, it's good, just not tournament quality. I agree, it is a terrible course from a playability standpoint. With so many great courses out there, it's hard to understand why this was chosen. The designer did a great job on the look and attention to detail, so there is that. Starting from hole 1 where the pin is in a goofy position, and on, though, it just doesn't deliver a nice experience.

Wow, you guys are hard to please. Played a few rounds of this with my CC buddy and we love it. That 80 foot downhill par 3 is a toughie indeed but I've played on par threes in real life with that kind of elevation drop, don't see what's so fantasy about it. We all have opinions of what makes a good course though haha.
