Jared, your -12 is godly. I've played the course at least five times today and can't come close to you.
I'm guessing scores are going to be lower across the board for week 36. This course has some hard to approach greens. Beautiful though!

If people are reporting accurate scores, then some much lower flighted players crushed me. Have to really step up or I will quickly be demoted

This course has some hard to approach greens. Beautiful though! Yeah, I'm surprised I got that score as well. Had 9 - 12 mph winds, but most holes the direction was either not a factor or helpful (headwinds to holes I'd be hitting 3i into, tailwinds in two of the par 5's). I missed something like a 6' eagle putt on the last par 5 like normal. With all the elevation changes and really small greens, tailwinds into par 4s are going to hurt more than they are going to help. Even into a 10 mph headwind I couldn't get a 3i to stop on one of the greens even after hitting the front. I can't remember if I saw more than one truly straight putt during the entire round. If we see our usual 18 mph winds in a round, it's going to be a battle just to stay at even par.

Are your ears burning Jared?
I just played your ghost on Isle (CC one) and I'm struggling to beat my measly -2 I set a couple weeks ago, I see you at -11. That was depressing lol. I rage quit on the 18'th hole after missing the fairway. lol
My head is just not in the game today, been finding that after the Saturday tournament rounds I'm drained the next day and can't seem to get anything going or motivation. Will have at it again though, couple of those short par 4's are kind of fun to try and hit in one.

You'll be fine!

Excellent shooting yourself. If you end up getting -14, I don't think I'm going to try and match. Putting on these greens isn't terribly fun for me. Even 4 footers are bad enough. Though I can't wait for someone to come along and shoot -18 or better on this course, haha.

Ok, I'm getting the hang of Isla Resaca for the CC course. But there is another Isla Resaca course that doesn't have CC in it. Doyley lists both courses on the multi-pin schedule. Guess we might play the CC as a course A and the non-CC as a course B.
Best over a handful of plays is a -3. I'm not sure what it is, maybe pin position? But it certainly feels harder to me.
I was actually shooting for the -14 today on the Isla Resaca CC. I had -10 after 10 holes but ended up hitting par after par after par on the back 9. I did get my third legit hole in one on hole 8 though!

I know that feeling about having a strong start then stagnating (seriously, I just checked my 1st round scorecard on the current tournament and remembered I had 6 straight birdies to start then finished 1 under through the next 12 holes). I think on one of my -12's I was -8 through 8 and then my putting let me down. I haven't tried the non-CC course, but it sounds like it'll be even more fun if the wind is high...which we'd be kidding ourselves if we didn't think we'd get at least one round at 17-18 mph winds and another at 13-14 mph.

Yeah, at least one round over 13 mph seems to be par for the course now. I think I have 8 plays on the CC course and 4 plays on the non-CC course and I have not seem winds over 12 yet. Next week I think I'm going to keep track and keep a tabulation of winds. I really think that the probability of getting a 14+ mph wind course in practice is 5 percent or less.

I have a hard time playing a course I'm not fond of. Best I have played is a 2 over 74 in 10-15mph winds. This tournament will be my 3rd consecutive strike I think after a top 25 @ Fraxinus

hey everyone is allowed a few fantasy courses yeah? heh.
The CC one has easier pins on a few holes. I was asked to make it 3-5 shots easier...I think it is with the new pins. Front 9 is realistic and like a resort course. Back 9 is just pure fun fantasy style.
If you think it's hard to play a course you don't like try designing a course in a theme you don't like. AAARRRRGGG!
