Thank you for this. Saw this post and won the following week after only playing 9 holes practicing with it. mmmm. i just used method on CC tour, i think it 15 hole 220 + yard par 3 , wind was 15mph crosswind right to left so used slider a box to right , now i expected the ball to go pretty straight , but i shaped left to right straight off tee and hit rough before bouncing in water ..that a fair way against wind....but i must say the last 2 rounds of the tournament were strange , my maths was spot on first two rounds then same maths produced many shots that fell 20 yards short of green ... There's some sort of modifier for crosswinds effecting the distance traveled. Just haven't figured it out yet. I know that the more you loft up, the more yardage you'll lose if there's a crosswind vs when there isn't.

I am in CC - E. Have struggled to play this game on PC and mouse since August last year.
Personally, I do not use the boxes for wind, although I hate the extreme wind we have to put up with. I just move my mouse where I think it will adjust to the wind. The only time I use boxes? is to adjust loft up or down....and never on driver or woods...just my style of playing.
I have had a serious accident a few years back and this game assists with my rehabilitation.
The friendship on these forums is really great and if anyone is on PC you are welcome to friend me on Steam. I cannot be always sure that I can play a live game against you as I am in Melbourne, Australia, and the time zone difference is the problem.
PS, I am in my mid 60's so any young fellas be aware that I have all those years as an advantage....lol
Kind regards to all,
oz

You really have to practice in various wind conditions to figure it out.
High crosswinds are a bear. I find that the slightest downward crosswind (I mean even a hair down from 9 and 3 o'clock will have an affect on the ball being short. Take that into consideration. My base crosswind (headwind) strategy is pretty simple, I take the total wind and then add more depending on where the wind is blowing (sorry for the stupidity of that explanation).
Example: I have 12 mph headwind at the 4-5 o'clock position. My fade/draw adjustment will be 6 (where on the square is club dependent) and my yardage adjustment will be 18 yards up.
For a straight headwind I always use 200%. Tailwinds are very different. Very hard to hold tourney greens with lower clubs unless you are lofting up. I find myself taking an additional 10 yards off my calculations for tailwinds above 10 mph.
I reiterate, a lot of these calculations are based on my experience and how I use the fade/draw or click methods. It may not translate exactly to your game.

I hate using it, it's so fake. However there are plenty of times where we have no choice due to trees blocking etc. 1 box for every 11 mph of cross wind. Pros often shape shots to hold them against the wind. I agree it's exaggerated, but then so is a 10mph wind blowing a golf ball 20 yards off target. Is that Aphibahnrat in your pic?
