Despite my round avg and poor placings i like the wind as is. I feel like the wind is the equalizer and if i improve that's one factor no one can prepare for. 74 76 68 77 Very true. The variables of in game physics and how the wind reacts to certain clubs and lies are too wide spread though. I do agree that it levels the playing field somewhat, but the margin for error is almost non-existent at times. The shot cone all but disappears in some situations making it very difficult to navigate certain shots. Very life like in that regard....but frustrating none the less. Progress is being made on my end and with others, its reflective in scoring. We'll endure and we will persevere!!

Hey Phlyer, Shot round 2 with your ghost, computer put you with me, and I deleted the others. Can see some of the frustrations you are having with the winds, although not that bad in round 2. You did make some good putts during this round, holes #9 and 10 in particular, long par saving putts, nicely done. Just as we all seem to get into a good flow during the match, something always comes up to spoil the rhythm. I think it was hole #15, a water ball for you. You did recover well from it, almost saved your par as I recall, but it did interrupt the good stretch run you were having. Anyway, just wanted to say hi and for you to continue to fight the good fight. I know that you were probably not all that happy with the round, but we have to play with what we are given, no matter how much it sucks sometimes.
As for myself during this round, got into a good flow for a change (been a long time since I had one), started off strong with some birds, but pretty much pared the course for the most part. Hung out at -2, but then my rhythm was corrupted by a bad mis-hit tee shot at #17, into the deep stuff and came up 2 inches short (that's what she said last night{LOL}) on my par saving putt. 2nd straight round with no double bogies, my Achilles heel in this game.
Without factoring in the bad luck with the winds in Round 1, seems to me that you are getting a little more consistent since the last time I ghosted with you. Hang in there man, it will come together eventually.

I think I might earn myself my first demotion strike this week. Oh well. I've calmed down a bit since last nights masochistic 18th hole. If I could just have one tournament with slower greens I would be killing it I think.

I have completed my last three rounds and a definite improvement from my first round with those very high winds.
It still mystifies me that most often the wind is not in your favour, par 5's for a longer drive to increase chance of making green in two or if the wind is behind your back or at 90 degrees left or right very difficult to judge a short par 3. I'm not suggesting that every par 5 you can make in 2, but invariably the wind seems never to be behind you on your tee shot.
Still love the game as it helps with my rehabilitation.
Enjoy the company as well.
Kind regards,
oz

A combination of 20mph winds and those greens were insane.

+5 for round 1 so I thought I was in the clear but round 2 was a brutal +8. The greens are just so hard to judge speed on for me. I was able to go -2 and even I think on the last round to hopefully avoid a strike.

Yep...15 was my achilles heel the entire tournament and I didn't hit the water there once in any of my practice rounds....even in up to 15mph winds. I think I took an 11 there in one of my rounds because I was so damn frustrated.

76-66-69-68 (-5) for me this week. Pretty satisfied with that, I won't pick up another win after Paul's heroics but hopeful of another top 5 finish.

Just another lack luster and disappointing tournament. But, boy, how about all the events coming up for the Big Dogs! It really does pay to play well. Soooo...............how about next year, something to look forward to, maybe, really, hope so? Considering how it was in Jan, never saw this being what it is today. The biggest question mark that hangs over my head at the moment is what has changed about the game that has now taken away the sub-par rounds that used to be a once or twice real thing each and every tournament? The wind fix? Maybe, not sure, played in strong winds at the beginning of the year, still managed subpar rounds then. I really think that HB has tweaked the basic physics and some calculations in their updates that has really shown the lesser skilled players the Bogey Door. Just not sure anymore...........a shame, really enjoyed the game early, now it is becoming a struggle to drag myself to the first tee anymore. Time away from the game, maybe. Just dazed and confused with it all.

I feel your pain Kiwi. I was disgusted with my performance this week @ Le Golf. I just couldn't get anything going. I have since possibly pinpointed what my issue may have been in regards to lag between my controller and game. I have moved my contoller wireless module to my desktop now as opposed to being further away from the actual controller when I play. I have also lowered all in game "bells and whistles" inorder to up my FPS in game play. While it may not have been the direct issue, it seems to have improved my controllers response time to my actions with the "swing stick". It could just be a coincidence, but I'm going with it because it seems to have somewhat help me turn the page a bit.
