I had a decent run out there, made lots of birdies, but had a few mistakes here and there, trying to be the hero out of the rough never ends well really. Went 75/67/71/70, and finished my first event under par, after 5 weeks of failing. Few more weeks till we get to go at the CC Championships. Tour Card dreams still alive haha. Had similar winds, 19-20 round 1, then 7-12 on the other three. The 20 wind was a challenge, but I had a wobbler on the back 9 as I was 3 under on the front 9. 10-12 I can handle fairly well. Was a nice course also!!!

Hard to keep it in play. Held a few puts to scramble but also missed several putts when the wind was manageable. Nice course really but the winds on the first round were disappointing to say the least.
70 69 68 66
-11
I've been working so hard lately. Hopefully this wont be too far off.

Thanks, I just didn't see a submit score link on the list, but I guess we can play it then submit once they open it? Time to get practicing . . .

Wow. What a weird round. Had a practice round with 8 birdies. 8! I don't think I've managed that many before. Final score 69 and a -2... Kinda' sums my general game up.

After an 85 in 20 mph winds in the 1st round I pretty much lost interest. Tough to battle back after shooting a +14 in round 1. My game just isn't there yet to shave that many strokes in 3 rounds. Round 1 just ate me alive mentally and zapped any confidence I had gained practicing the past 2 weeks. Back to the drawing board.

If it's any consolation I I did worse than you on round one. Your ghost was with me on the last round and I could see you had given up, as had I actually and you could tell the other ghost that was there didn't care either. Thats sad really. I'd rather those winds be the last round, let us play good for the 3 other rounds, then the last high wind round we would still fight to be competitive. which in turn would improve our game play. It does make quite a psychological difference to start with a heavy wind round. I know that the head honchos that post and create the courses have no control over this, so possibly it's just HB's way of messing with the random number wind generator.

There goes that myth that you can create a tour and it will emulate Tournament winds. No where close. In the Tour I created it was around 7-10 the entire tournament. It's frustrating..and everyone is frustrated. I know we all play the same winds...but the game just isn't any fun to me with the winds that high. It's like taking a kick in the junk on the 1st hole..and begging for 17 more.

It is based on the name. A different name will generate different winds. Id keep trying different namesn if you are that determined.

Don't get wrong, I know they have no control here over the winds generated and that its in the game programming. I'm not pointing anything at them at all.
In fact I;'m not really even complaining about the wind, I will play in anything they throw at me. I'm just musing about how I wish the wind was set differently on the HB side.
I will say this though, I've been playing TGC for a year now, the winds were never this intense until a few months ago, it started about a month before they first tried the wind fix, since then the prevalence of the big winds have increased dramatically, I even posted about it here a few months back. For some reason HB jacked up the winds and I'm fine with that, but you can tell its wearing on many, even the big hitters so to speak are talking about it.
