Don't get wrong, I know they have no control here over the winds generated and that its in the game programming. I'm not pointing anything at them at all. In fact I;'m not really even complaining about the wind, I will play in anything they throw at me. I'm just musing about how I wish the wind was set differently on the HB side. I will say this though, I've been playing TGC for a year now, the winds were never this intense until a few months ago, it started about a month before they first tried the wind fix, since then the prevalence of the big winds have increased dramatically, I even posted about it here a few months back. For some reason HB jacked up the winds and I'm fine with that, but you can tell its wearing on many, even the big hitters so to speak are talking about it. I'm not complaining about the wind at all..I'm stating it sucks and is no fun. That's not a complaint..it's actual fact..LOL. I think I'll post the scores from my best 4 rounds in practice. LOL

lol I should have used the quote on my previous post. I was replying to canthititstraight in regards to who sets the tournaments up, you guys type too fast, I didnt think there there would be multiple replies by time I was done lol Don't get wrong, I know they have no control here over the winds generated and that its in the game programming. Is there a possibility that your in game handicap may be read by the game and your swing and contacts effected because of that handicap setting? My in game handicap is a 2..because I play mostly courses that have no handicap rating...is there any chance that in these tournaments..the game reads that in game handicap and your swing and ball contact reacts accordingly? Just grasping straws here..but is it possible?

Had a good (for me) round going. Only +4 on the 15th Tee. Proceeded to drop 2 approach shots in the water for an 8. The overshot the 18th green and into the canal for another double bogie. Oh well, at least the gale winds are behind me.

Haha, yeah, it's getting to me as well. I was watching Wyndham last night and was like "come on! this isn't golf, there's barely a breeze!". Also, I was amazed over how quickly some of their shots stopped on green. Some essentially bounced out of the hit mark and died.

I did the same thing...I think I was +3...dropped 2 in the water, carded an 11 then hit the water on 18 as well...finished +14 for the 1st round..and punched my card. So much for my top 25 at Fraxinus. All confidence lost.

OK, I know don't know what happened but after the 81 to start I finished 70-74-68. I didn't change anything in the way I played but I did move the KB/Mouse receiver from the computer to much closer via a powered USB hub. I had noticed that I sometime lost the KB connection briefly in other things. I am not going to say that was it based on 3 rounds of golf but time will tell.

It was more than likely that it was the lower wind that improved your game rather than the hub. Though I get superstitious about my gameplay at times as well.

I did however pull off this shot!
As you can see I was on Even par at 11th, -1 going onto the 12th tee.

Sarintra,
Nice to see your game progressing in a positive direction, nice rounds you posted. Wish I could say the same and will not speak to my frustrations. Just wanted to say something positive to someone out here who did perform well, even in the round 1 situation. I will assume by looking at your scores and reading some of the comments in this thread, you will be sitting in a nice place when this tourney is concluded. Well played Sarintra!
Orion..............
Hard to keep it in play. Held a few puts to scramble but also missed several putts when the wind was manageable. Nice course really but the winds on the first round were disappointing to say the least. 70 69 68 66 -11 I've been working so hard lately. Hopefully this wont be too far off.

The only positive part of Round 1 was that I did not have any double bogies! Did not even have one real attempt for a birdie either! 10 bogies, 8 pars, this round was about trying to make pars with the environmental conditions presented to us by HB. Needless to say, I failed at that attempt, but was encouraged by the lack of the DB's.(LMFAO)
We have been told time and time again by our Staff that HB has no say in what happens here within the TGCT and I do believe that. They don't need to be involved in the day to day operations of this wonderful attempt at real life touring pros lives as was the original reason for the establishment of the TGCT. By having total control of the environmental conditions we play under, HB ultimately decides how much the final scores will be above or below par as has been evident since this "fair wind fix" has been put into OUR tournaments. HB has the power to control the margins of victory for each of the really great players out here on all tour levels, and how much higher the scoring averages will continue to rise for the less skilled players.
We all practice during the week on the courses and have some really encouraging results from what I read and with my own efforts. Just seems strange to me that when just playing for practice we see light, medium and strong winds, but they vary by as much as 10 mph from start to finish in most cases. Come tournament time, the winds only vary by 1 or 2 mph, so effectively they do not change by much. At the very least do not see why we do not see this kind of variances during the tourney? Usual response when asking this question in HB's forums is that it is a programing thing and their hands are tied or resources are limited. A nice comment to not really answer the question. It is a sad day for the TGCT to see HB control what they do and our great Staff members can do nothing about it. I have the greatest respect for the Staff and I can understand HB's business situation about resources, expenses and so on. This weird relationship between them is not really benefitting anyone, yet the frustrations amongst the players is growing because of this "environmental control" that HB has upon the final outcome of each and every tournament. I would hope that this is not an intentional thing on HB's part to frustrate us here in the TGCT to quit and join their tournament programs and boost their membership ranks.
Like Phlyerphanatics31 earlier said, "just throwing something out there" as food for thought.
