Enjoyed the course. It fit well for this level. I though the greens were fair. I was not a big fan of the 500 yard par 4 but the strong headwinds probably influenced that opinion. I scored well on the front nine, but the back continues to kick my tail.

Just curious, how long does a course like this take? Is it completely from scratch or do you generate a random map with a theme and then alter each hole?

It's a lovely course, really well designed and the best compliment I can give it is that it looks like a pretty easy course (especially in comparison to some of the ones we've had lately) but breaking par is actually not that simple at all. Not for us guys down in CC-E at any rate. Thanks for playing and the compliments! Glad it plays a bit tougher than it looks.

Thanks for playing. glad you are warming up to it. And I'm not trying to fight with you here or anything but I feel that 18 isn't a fantasy type of hole. Can you explain why you feel that way? I've never seen a green on an elevated plateau like that and the rest of the course is designed well enough that I don't think it needs a "gimmick" like that. Fair enough. Sorry the gimmick was there. Just thought it added a little spice to then end with going for it being a vertical challenge and not a horizontal one.

Have enjoyed playing your course so far Ninja. I don't mind 18 - it's classic risk/reward. Go for the green or lay up. Ist tournament round in 14mph I was -3 starting the 17th and bogeyed 17 & 18 Grrrrr! Swore I'd never go for 18 in two again. So what did I do in round 2? Yeah you got it, went for it again but this time had a bit of following wind and made the green in 2 and got my birdie so sweet revenge. Good work - keep designing - it's what makes this game great. Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it. And it's awesome to hear someone got the wrath of 18 lol...

Good course with a ton of sucker pins! Could have played a few strokes better if I didn't play so aggressive.. Very smart design for the most part. Thanks for the compliments! Glad you enjoyed it.

We actually have a hole like it at my course where you can have anything from a 7 iron to a 3 wood and some more in lol

I generate the terrain, remove all the holes and make each hole from scratch. I seem to be a fairly fast designer compared to others but I'd say it took me about 15 - 20 hours.

Oh nice, that's not as bad as I thought it'd be. I was curious what a non real life replica course would take because I read somewhere that the designer that made the Augusta replica spent 300 hours on that. But then again, having to match the course with real life satellite photos takes a certain kind of obsessive personality.

Great course man! 18 scared me to death. Definitely played it to not come up short on my approach shots!

Love the course. It's full of risk/reward shots. The wind make a big difference in shot/club selection. Placement from the tee is very important. It's not easy to hit fairways off the tee but the key is where on the fairway do you hit it. A number of holes require placement on the edge of the fairway. With high winds that can be tricky. Again, it's more risk/reward play. My only small criticism would be the 10th green (1st Round). That's probably because I 3 putted from 6 feet. I just find holes directly on bigger slopes (I know it's not that big) hard to deal with, especially when greens are fast.
I can't believe it only took that long to design! I'm still on my first course design and I've probably only completed 2 holes with about another 10 well underway. It's probably taken 20 hours already.

Risk/ reward is what I was going for and just like you mentioned, placement off the tee. IE hole 8. Also I do think 10 may have been a bit of an aggressive slope, the only reason I didn't think twice about it was because you should have a wedge/ short iron in but I totally get that criticism. And yeah I think I design faster than most people for some reason. Can't really pin point why though.

Even though I have an exemption to Web this week, I'm still going to play the four rounds here, the course is that good. Or maybe my life is that dry? hmm..
Seriously though, it's a great course, and perfect choice for CC imo. Pretty windy in the first round but it still played really fair. Anyways, I thought there was lots of attention to detail re: playability, it felt as if the slopes and greens were really well thought out and the course had been play-tested a lot. Nice work.
