How do I get out of the rough? It seems like when I'm 60-81% deep (or whatever that means), no matter how many times I club up or loft, etc. I can't get real distance on the ball that in real life you could (especially if you're a pro golfer).
What are tip on getting out of this?

Take the PW or I9 and loft it to the maximum (154% or whatever it is).

Take the PW or I9 and loft it to the maximum (154% or whatever it is). But I'm talking about hitting the rough after your tee shot and you're still 170yards away or something... You should still be able to reach it.... pro golfers reach that all the time.... even when in rough?

And most Tour-Pros hit the Driver about 300y (and more) carry, and not 265 as we do in TGC. So take it as it is, there are simply lies in this game where you just might not be able to hit the GIR after missing the fairway from the tee. Pro Tip: Don't miss the fairway! My suggestion above was that in really bad lies you actually gonna hit the ball further if you take a shorter club (like PW) lofted up to maximum (because you get that better lie percentage) than hitting let's say an Iron 4 or so out of the rough.

Lofted punch shots with wedges are nice, too. The % on one of them is like 176%

Lofted punch shots with wedges are nice, too. The % on one of them is like 176% SW delofts to 187%...gets about 165 out of thick rough with a decent lie.

Eaxh time you do up clubs i thing the red.cone narrows big time so you have to be spot on with your swing

Can't help but wonder why chipping on the greens is not allowed but delofting a SW to make it go 165 yds out of the heavy rough is...

I can honestly say I have never attempted this. I normally go down to a regular 5 iron or so and usually in the deep rough 70% can get about 100yards off of it.
Fiddling around I just hit a delofted SW 156 yards. (with wind) This doesn't seem right at all.....

tbh, I thought they had got rid of it? Hopefully they do if you can still do that.

For me it depends on how bad it is and how far I am from the hole. Normally I just default to the calculation (if I had 60-81% I would play for 75%). That means if me distance to the hole is 200 yards still, I am only hitting it 150 at 75%. So I club up to get that extra 50 yards (I obviously know I am not doing that at 200 but just an example).
Otherwise I just take a 4/5 iron to it and get it up as far as I can. I have never tried the delofted wedges.

Just wanted to mention the best possible solution in this game right now for the guy opening this thread.
