While I understand the decision, kinda sucks for those who decided to dive in and play the Euro events to try and qualify for both while sacrificing Fed Ex points on the PGA to gain money on the Euro. That being said, while I attempted it, the only way i got into consideration was winning the Open, otherwise I would have missed it, still I made the choice based on information that we 'could' qualify for both with the unlimited cross overs and that is now being taken away. Honestly, I believe that those that do qualify should be allowed (if they choose and for this season only) to play in both if they have qualified, in order to be fair...otherwise you are penalizing people for playing the Euro tour by not giving them any Fed Ex points for the times they crossed. I guess my point is when unlimited cross overs were announced players had a certain expectation on how the season would end and made choices of where we'd play based on that information, only to have the rules change 2 weeks out and our decisions rendered moot and and on top of that penalized for those choices when we shouldn't be. Maybe the seasons combined money list should count for qualification instead on both tours to make it fair, just for this season? Combine the money lists from PGA events, Euro Events, Co-Sanctioned Events (Majors/WGC) Top 78 from Euro Cards play Race to Dubai Top 125 from US Cards play Fed Ex Cup Otherwise the Euro guys that crossed over on false pretences would have missed out on Dubai points and US guys who crossed would have missed out on Fed Ex points with nothing to show for it.

I'm feeling the pressure to perform in these events already now. Ha. Sounds real good Scott. Think it's a great move and a master stroke to have both tour finals play at the same time, may each respective tour finals best person win....... In regards to the crossover events and people complaining that they have lost out on their home tours now with this info regarding the tour finals I say this.... IMHO, I personally am a Euro Member, I've played so far 16 Euro events and 12 PGA events.... My main focus was to stay top 60 on Euro for a spot in the DP World Championship and also to try and place in the top 70 on the PGA for a crack at the Tour Championship if I played well enough in the first 3 Fedex cup playoff events it might have come about. With this said it was always my main priority to make the Euro playoffs and the only reason I have played so many PGA events is because I have always been top 30 on Euro since basically Febuary (currently 28th on Euro money list) and have needed to work at being top 70 on PGA (currently 72nd on fedex pts list).... To put all my cookies in the PGA events would have been naive and an oversight on being a Euro Tour Member. Anyone who is now in this boat where they are now going to be in a battle on their own Home Tour now with the overlapping finals to be in their respective tours finale will have to cop it sweet and lesson learned for next year I guess as maybe their focus wasn't aligned correctly with the end of year rankings not fully realized. Sure, in real life the pros have a chance to play both finals and a chance at winning both, but the be all end all is for each tours members to play their home tours finals, and they all do. It's the select few who play both and have a shot at winning both bit this is of a huge minority as pulling off the double and having a real hope at both is very difficult to do and replicated in this game the same way very well I feel for most...... Chin up guys and good luck to all in the finals. Can't wait!!!

So, only ACTIVE PGA MEMBERS can play The Barclays and no European if he or she won a Major/WGC?? What would be the point? The FedEx Final is same week as Euro final. Seems you have to choose one or the other. Nobody can do a Stenson which is a shame but also it makes the WGC and Majors that much more special. Vice Versa PGA Tour is allowed to play the final stage of the European Tour and Europeans are not allowed to take part in the FedExCup Playoffs ...This is the point for me. It seems PGA Tour is allowed to do everything and the European Tour can collect the crumbs?!? Rahther no changes on the PGA Tour, and a little revolution including whole new schedule on the Euro-Tour. I have a safe spot for the final Tournament of the Race to Dubai, so why not playing a few Tournaments of the FedExCup Playoffs?!?! And perhaps this was one of my own Goals at the beginnning of the Season, to qualify for both final stages. Anyway, this decision is going to make The European Tour a lower Tour. 1a and 1b is history imo.

I know what your saying BT...... but put it this way, if I was say around 60th on the euro money list, I personally wouldn't be playing to many crossover events as I'd definately be hurting my chance of being in the Euro playoffs, but being top 30 on the Euro I've tried to get top 70 on PGA tour, with this new info I am fine with it as my primary focus is still aligned with my hole tours finals..... I've no shot at competing in the Fedex playoffs now and not really concerned in the slightest as TBH I probably would havw taken a deserved PGA tour members spot as I would really only be making up the numbers on the PGA with no real chance at taking that title.... Fair call TGCT admin!!!! Well done guys on all you do again for us....

Well, it looks reasonable. I'm a little bummed that if I go through Q-school and don't win a Web.com card but would have placed in say, CC-D, I go back to CC-Z. C'est la vie.

The December Q-School is not the Q-School that you went through the first time (which we are renaming as TGCT Qualifier for Season 2). The December Q-School is six new courses and its not about determining placement...it's just an open way to try to get a pro tour card...just like the real life Q-School. So there won't be anything about the tournament that would tell you that you would have qualified for CC-D based on your performance as it is Apples and Oranges.

True, thats a bit bizarre. Surprised it's not all re-sorted by where you finish. Top % Web card, next % A, next % B, bottom % Z.

Quick question though, when does the next season start? Does it jump right into it with little to no downtime? Week 41

What is the rule (if there is one yet) for crossovers for season 2? Until we have time to discuss it as admin it will remain the same - unlimited. Obviously with the playoffs being run simultaneously it takes some of the luster of the crossovers for season 2 but they are still there for those that want to jump across the pond and play the other course that week.

Yes, I understand it's not ideal - I am caught up in it too and it's disappointing for me as well.

Doyley
Two questions: 1) Perhaps there could be a way to , highlight the players in FedEx and Race to Dubai Standings who are eligible for the season ending events, so those near the bubble know exactly where they stand.
2) If I read correctly, those outside the top 100 on PGA and Euro Tour must play in the Web.com finals to maintain a tour card. So, if you finish high enough to earn a card in the FINALS do you have a choice of Tours or will you be placed in one or the other.
Thanks

As the rules stand now, it says those who finish in the bottom 20% of FedEx cup standings and fail to earn PGA Tour card during Web.com Tour Finals get demoted to Web.com I wish we could get some kind of line on the standing page that shows not only the Top 125 Fed Ex cutoff but also the bottom 20% cut off point and have it fluctuate from week to week. As it is explained now, I have no idea where I will be or what I have to do after season is over.

Don't know if this is the place to ask this or not... but if someone wanted to change tours from season 1 to season 2. Say go from Euro to PGA or vice versa... is there a 'procedure' for that to happen?

Not really detailed, but top 10 in Web.com Top 10 in money on Web get automatic PGA or Euro card. Is that Top 10 (that have not already earned a PGA/Euro tour card in some other fashion) I assume/hope? Not sure if that is applicable, but it might be. (sitting 11th )
