Was looking forward to this weeks tournament but once again stupid winds suck all the fun out of it, i firmly believe the cc tour should be split in 2, playing tournaments on these kind of courses every week are ruining the enjoyment of the game for me and im sure im not alone Nope...you're not alone. Seriously have thought about pulling the plug on this game countless times in the past 2 weeks. I know they send out Rangers on each course before each tournament..but how about the Rangers each week be the previous week's winner, the last person in the top 70 and the person finishing last in the tournament...maybe then you'd get a good read at how tough the course will be for the field. I honestly believe someone gets aroused by seeing some of the ballooned scores some of us put up week after week. Hey..whatever turns yer crank I guess. I'll see ya in CC-E next week...I'll be earning my 3rd strike in CC-D this week after 3 tournaments played. I'm a ranger, I'm in CC-Z and I suck. I hated last week's course. HATED IT. However, just because I hate a course, doesn't mean it's not tournament worthy, doesn't mean that it's not meeting the qualifications for a tournament course and doesn't mean that it meets requirements for lag, etc. across multiple platforms. We can't kick out a course just because it kicks our gluteal muscles as Rangers. It's not about whether we score low or don't, it's not about whether we even enjoy the course. It's about whether it meets the criteria established for courses. And trust me. I'd love to K.O. some of these courses. I'd love to put them in a room with Ronda Rousey and tell her that the course just insulted her mama. Especially last week's course. I'd tell Ronda it said her mama's a terrible cook. But at the end, we have rules and criteria. I've pointed out more than a few times when I felt a course was a little too hard for the CC level. I've pointed out holes where the greens were really unfair to someone at our level. They pay attention to it, believe me. Nobody here enjoys watching you balloon up.

I'm not very good -- I've been somewhere around 60's rank for the past several courses, and I thought that this course was the easiest for me in recent memory! I actually parred my 2nd round after a +3 round 1, both of which are real accomplishments for me. I've had some real frustrating rounds recently, but it's strange that this course is vexing so many people who are probably better than me! And trust me, this is not meant as a humble brag.

Rds 3 an 4 done
winds at 12/13 for the third an 5-8 in the last
almost pull out a jacker cracker in the third ... 2 under at 12 or 13 ... but finished at 2 over putting seem to the key , though it went cold fast found a bit of water in the last round
onward to the next week, see you then

Finished up at +31, this is the first time on these tours that I thought about just quitting.
Madden is out soon, so maybe I will just trade in The Golf Club.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
It's all about you competing against the course and the variables that come with it.
If you think I am writing to get you all enthusiastic about the course chosen....then don't.
I posted a cricket score and I cringe each time I look at my numbers.
On other occasions I have come from 3 rounds of mid to high 70's and the last round was between 60 and 65.
So it's all about your challenge to yourself. That's the way I see it. But some of these courses can be a little less hill climbing for us in the lower CC rankings.
My kind regards to all,
oz

Thankfully my game picked up for rounds 3 and 4. I went from 94 to 92 to 77 to 71. Could have been even more ugly than it was !

Phodg,
Well, you certainly went in the right direction, congrats on your strong finishing rounds. On this course and with the winds as they were, consider this as a victory of sorts. It has been ugly for lots of us this week so reading your post is a nice, refreshing breath of air. Hope that your final position on the board will be a good one, always good to get the first tourney under your belt and a good starting point for all that follows. Welcome to the TGCT in case you have missed out on that statement from anyone here in this group and hope that your continuing rounds will show the improving trend you have set for yourself. Congrats again and best of luck to you!

Just finished with my 4th round. Mind = blown.. I felt like I was putting on ice. The wind made par 4s unreachable in two shots. Extremely difficult but I like the challenge. I will admit though, during some of the rounds I debated trading this game in lol. Overall I would like to see the winds adjusted a little bit. Its not fun to have 9-15 mph head winds every hole. Also the greens honestly felt like ice, I just couldn't get it down, not even after 4 rounds. Hope you all did well this week.
EDIT: I did get a hole in one on the first round. But than I 5 putted, yes 5 putted on 16 or 17.

79-79-69-73 (+12) for me. Paid the price for not having the time this week to practice the course, you just have no chance going in there blind. I would say the greens were on the wrong side of challenging, not a course I'll be returning to.

Dpechal,
First, let me send some congrats to you on the Ace! I got my first one earlier this year and it is a good feeling to get one, especially on the type of course we have played this week and even better to get one during tournament play! Secondly, Welcome to Tour, hope you do stick around, do not let everything about the courses, the winds, etc. drive you away. Some really good people here and that alone can make all the difference to enjoying this game.
I understand why this week has produced so many negative comments about the course, winds and so on. I have been here since before the tour started and will say that the winds are fixed now. Before HB modified the winds to what we have today, there was no level playing field for all players with respect to the wind issue. Lots of history about this subject, will not repeat it all here and now as it is quite long and involved. But will say that what we have now does allow for everyone to see the same winds each and every round and although it is not the "best or perfect" solution, it is much better to have everyone seeing the same winds during the tourney. This may not seem to be that important, but it is and now, IMHO, I am at ease every tourney knowing that someone else does not have another advantage over me with less winds than what I might see. Some people would get hurricane force winds all 4 rounds and shoot a higher score while a less skilled player would wait for lower winds, play their matches based upon the lower winds and come out ahead of the better players. We called them "Wind Waiters" and it was a big problem. So, do not expect to see any major changes with wind issues, accept them for what they are and play the best that you can, knowing everyone one else is seeing and experiencing the same conditions.
The course difficulty has been changed and I am not really that happy with these, as I feel that us less skilled groups of players are playing courses that are way out of our league. Now, I like the challenge, but think that we should not be expected to stay happy and have fun when we are getting beat up every week lately, it does have an effect upon the wanting to stay and play theory. I used to be able to get sub-par rounds and was lowering my overall scoring average before this last modification. It was fun, my attitude was very positive and my moral was way up the chart. This Staff does an outstanding job of keeping all of this running and that job is not an easy one. They can not and SHOULD not be expected to be able to please all of us at all levels. Like I said, I am somewhat dishearten by these new difficulty levels we are seeing, think we should be playing courses more suited to our skill levels rather than those of the CC-A & B groups. Those guys are really good and some used to be down at this level. That was another big issue that the Staff had to address, the best that they could. So, we have what we have now and I am optimistic that with this being a common theme in the threads this week, that maybe some re-consideration is being given to our cause and that we could expect some sort of relief to this growing problem also. The Staff has an excellent history of identifying problem areas and reacting with not rash solutions or fixes, but proper action steps to improve and correct the areas of concern with professional thought and common sense solutions. We, as players, have to give them that time to study and implement any needed changes. With all that this tour has undergone and with the explosion of the number of players, I, for one, am willing to respect their judgments and give them the time needed to come back to us and present a plan of action. Just my own personal take on all of this.
I am not picking on you or what you said by writing all of this, just have heard enough of the same comments and felt it needed to be put out here once again. Most of these comments are coming from our newer members and really do not know all that has transpired since this tour came into existence. It is my hope by writing all of this that newer members like you will take the time to read it all and maybe better understand the struggles all of us are facing here in the bottom levels of the tour. I, just as much as any of you, am not all that pleased by having to play this difficulty levels of courses and watch my scoring average climb higher than ever. My confidence level is quite low and I am tired of being beat up so badly by these courses. I am sure that is what most players here are feeling. All players feel much better when the scores are lower and they feel like progress is taking place. We all must remember that our skills are not as good as those above us and we are the ones that shoot the scores. True, the scores are dictated by our skills, the difficulty of the courses, and the environmental conditions. I think in time, the variables that the Staff can control will improve for us all and what is left is for us to improve our skills. Practice and more Practice is what it will take for that improvement. Hopefully, we will get courses better suited for our skills and the moral will improve. The Staff does monitor these threads and I hope that someone is indeed reading this and maybe putting so more thoughts into what can be done to give us a better chance for that improvement. It will not happen overnight, but it will happen, to be sure of that.

first and foremost, love the site and thank you for the work you put in. I would assume I may retire from these boards with only 1 post cause figured id say my piece then keep playin. If this is meant to be a golf sim and a sim of a actual tournament then in my opinion you guys dropped the ball on this one. I suck, will never win a tourney heck may not finish in the top 25 ever, but to actually run a tournament with greens like these is not sim. I have never watched a tourney where a pro golfer ran a 2 ft putt 12 feet by. I'm a duffer and i don't even think ive done that. The creator of this course wanted minature golf and you put a tourney on it. That isn't fun. i know folks are defending it and heck more power to you but if the point is realistic golf then this wasn't it. have a good day kevin

Kevyerin.
Will extend the same hospitality that I do to all newcomers and say Welcome. You seem to be pretty set on your opinions of your playing skills, the game, the courses and the lack of realism you have encountered. Sorry your expectations were not met and the experience was a bad one. Everyone is entitled to their opinions, thanks for sharing yours with the rest of us. I know of no other golf game that claims to be realistic, let me know if you come across one, would love to see and play it. You have a good day also.
