So didn't see any threads so thought I'd start this weeks.
This week has been a disaster for me lol. Was posting below par practice scores and then on first hole of comp triple bogie!! Seriously!!! Played three rounds and I'm even par! Winds make this a difficult course!!
Good luck to everyone.

Likewise Phil. Was hitting an average of -4 in practice with a best of -8 yet I finished with a total of -2 (72, 70, 74, 70). I just fudge up in tournaments and I knew on the very first hole when hitting a double bogey that it was going to be a struggle. Just couldn't wait to get the tournament over.
The course will simply be too hard for the majority of the CC members. I really don't know what to say as we don't want to see scores in the high 50's / low 60's every week but this is just a step too far. The greens are like ice rinks and one or two pin placements are just ridiculously tough. Not to take anything away from the designer however as it is a nice course and I'm sure your average PGA/Euro player will love the challenge but it's not a course CC players should be playing imho.
And then the next course is supposedly another very tough one too. When will it ever end.....

I actually don't mind a difficult course as the only way to get better is to play them and everyone has to play it as well. My frustration is more with myself as I know I can hit good scores but not consistently. Think a lot of people will struggle to shoot really low so will be interesting to see what wins this week.

Don't feel too bad, I didn't par once on all four rounds in that first hole! I got three bogeys and a double bogey I believe.
Like SirPaul, my best in practice was -8, but average was more like -1. I finished +12.

I finished +12. Just goes to show that practice means diddly squat. I normally only practice for two rounds at the most but on this course I had at least 8 rounds. The winds in the tournament were nothing like those encountered in practice (speeds similar but direction completely the opposite which threw me) so it was like playing a different course. Again in practice I was landing on the greens, reading the speeds no problem and giving myself lots of birdie opportunities but in the tournament so many were rolling off and those 4 yard chips, which I'd normally find a doddle, were a complete nightmare too shooting past the hole. I'm the same as Phil, it's frustrating as I know I'm a lot better than my showing but consistency is certainly the key and I need to find it. For the first time last night I was hitting some shots where I just wasn't trying due to frustration so I need to get rid of that for a start. I don't think -2 will be all that bad and I'll be surprised if it's not a top 20/25 but hearing people going lower than -20 is deflating, more so as I know I'm capable of it. Now it's the waiting game for the next tournament. 6 days feels like an eternity!

Nervous to start now! I don't start my tournaments until Monday, and I, too, have consistently shot -5 to -7 in practice rounds. Gonna be interesting tomorrow!

Well, played a practice round in 14 mph winds and shot 65. I hope that's a good omen!

Must admit I never play practice rounds, mainly because I know I'll only end up getting frustrated that I inevitably shot a better score than in the tournament itself!
Anyway, I actually quite liked this course and the challenge it presented, although trying to play it with a PS4 controller turned the whole thing into a bit of a lottery! I'd be quite interested to see what my GIR stats were, as those shots that didn't fall into 92% territory mainly just skated off the marble greens instead. But like I said, nice course and one I'd like to try again if HB ever fix the PS4 swing issues.

The most recent update simply requires you push a little harder on follow through. I get 100 percent on 90-plus percent of my swings. That hasn't worked for you?

I played a final practice round about an hour ago and shot 60 in 8 mph wind. Hope I haven't burned myself out in practice!

The last round was played the following day. Maybe thsts the secret. But it was also 6-8 mph winds which I find easy enough to play in most of the time
