Can someone explain to me how the winner in CC D this week will be pushing -30? Aren't we supposed to be D, the fourth highest development circuit? Why no promotions? Yea I found this strange. There are guys 800 places above me on the rankings playing on the same tour as me? yes its a mistery to me to if i fail another week i will be sandbagging my way to cc-d and maybe just maybe i can win once but i doubt it

i will be sandbagging my way to cc-d No offense...but that's the issue I have. I(and others) legitimately suck at this game. We shouldn't have to endure tournaments against people worlds above us playing in our division. Just a beef I have and to me the main issue as to why the lower levels are playing tougher courses, because players are putting up numbers comparable to divisions 2 and 3 tiers up.

I don't mind the tougher courses, as long as we're all competing against similarly skilled golfers. Having people dropping low 60s scores while others are pushing 90 in the same division doesn't make much sense. And it appears to be the same in other divisions as well. Every division has someone dropping in the -20s to win. Even in E. Why is that? Is the algorithm for promotions off? Do they need to "cull the herd" so to speak?

Nor do I..if I'm playing against a field that I know will struggle equally on a course that all out kicks my ass. Seeing someone drop a cool 60 on a course after I just pounded and hacked my way to an 82 is a bit disheartening..and it's happening week in and week out.

Happens in real life to.. There is always a group of PGA players shooting in the low 80's while the other guys are in the 60's..

I thought I played rather well, for my skills, and am sitting at +4 after two rounds. It's disheartening to see someone 20 strokes above you and you played your arse off (again, for my skills, and pretty much most others', too.)

The Challenge Circuit is fairly new and the flights are still settling down really. Also, there seems to be an ungodly amount of people in CC-D at the minute. I've had 2 of my mates join it recently. One hit +45ish, the other +90ish in q-school. Both are in CC-D. Having said that they are both +20ish after two rounds this week. I should imagine CC-D is full of people that should be in the flight above and even more below. With so many new people joining all the time I should imagine it's hard to get people in the right flight. A lot of people will be moving down to E soon I should imagine as only 70 people per week can defend against getting a strike. It'll sort itself out soon.

Fair points, Luke. There ARE a crapload of people in D, and if my scores don't hold up this week, I'll be one heading down. I staved off exile last week with a top 70, so time will, as you said, tell and we'll be where we belong, I guess.

I have only been playing this game for a week now and this week is my first tournament. Here is my take. A lot of folks (including myself) play Q-School before they learn to play the game. I am still learning (obviously after only a week) everyday but am getting better. So for me, I played Q-School after only a few rounds of messing with the game because I liked the idea of a competitive tour and I shot a +63.
Since that time I have read the Driving Range forum and found the Tips and Tricks sheet with wind/elevation calculations and club distances. This is 75% of the key to success with this game. The other 25% is learning to putt. After a few rounds of learning this I brought my in game handicap down to a plus and am doing OK in this current tournament (69, 79, 72 thru 3 rounds).
My guess is there is a lot of movement amongst the CC levels of players getting to where they should be and it will never end. So my suggestion is to either practice and get better or maybe stop playing the game. In the end, I think you will end up in the CC level you should be in, it just may take a little time to get there.

Strike Level for last weeks event (Top 70)
A: -4 B: +5 C: +11 D: +12 E: +69
Note the little difference between C and D and the massive difference between D and E. All will be right eventually.

This post and your prior one make a lot of sense. I didn't realize that the CC divisions were relatively fresh. I had incorrectly assumed they had been in place as long as the PGA and Web.
