Best of good luck everyone! Play well. I played one practice round before playing my four w31 rounds. I ended up with a -8, which I think was tied for second best score. Then I go on to play all 4 rounds over par. Those damn winds make a huge difference on this course!

Played 2 rounds and went 78 84 to sit 18 over after 2 rounds...the worse I shot here in practice was a 79...I'm beyond frustrated with this game. I never had miss swings in any of my practice rounds..tournament comes and I'm getting 90% swings almost my entire 2nd round...I'm not even going to play the last 2 rounds. Anyone know how to withdraw from a tournament after playing a couple of rounds? This will be me my 3rd strike anyway so at this point it doesn't matter anyway.

Does anyone know if I can email someone to take a demote to CC-Z? I need to drop down to gain some confidence playing people of equal caliber to me. I am seriously thinking of withdrawing my membership on these tours and this site because I am really not enjoying getting my ass kicked every week. Check out the standings for this past weeks tournament (Loa Pali). Scroll to the bottom..see last place?..that's me. Do the same thing for the Thousand Islands tournament once the scores are posted. I am very very frustrated and I feel I should be competing against people of my own ability. Sorry to b%& and moan..but I just don't feel comfortable having everyone laugh at my struggles from week to week.

Hope it will carry over to tourney play, but alas, it never does... Ill choke sure as the world... HA HA....
good luck gang...
Jim stick with it... I have been that frustrated as well, but just hang on and keep swinging.. itll get better...

Hang in there Jim.. Eventually you will find the right spot on the tours.. Just do the best you can each round and let them chips fall where they fall.. It's all about fun anyway.. Last time I checked we don't get those big "Happy Gilmore checks" at the end of these tourneys..

Hey Jim, I have been there and did take a demotion awhile back. I did it after reading TGCT Digest #2, found on the main page under the Latest News section at the bottom. I honestly wasn't redact to chuck the game, because I thing it is incredible fun. But I did want to get closer to my playing peer group. Note this was before the three strike rule and back when we had cuts, which I was never making. Very frustrating. Any hoooo, that's what I did. Mucho happier and playing a lot better with a better attitude. Good luck whatever you decide. Also, I think there are some kind souls that offer lessons, but that may be platform dependent.

Sorry to b%& and moan..but I just don't feel comfortable having everyone laugh at my struggles from week to week. Stick with it, it can be tough at times, a lot of us have been in the same position you have been in. I started at the bottom division way back when and could rarely shot under par. It took time be ever so slowly I started to improve and slowly moved up the divisions. I got frustrated at times and even to this day, I still can shoot a round of 80 or more. Confidence does play at part and at the moment yours is low but that can and will change. Take your third strike and move down a division, see how you get on there. There has been tough courses on the challenge circuit recently but that wont last for ever, a lot of people struggle on these courses but also learning as they go along. I think you should play your last 2 rounds. You are getting a third strike so there is nothing to lose. I to am facing my third strike this week and if I drop down a division I will use it as a learning experience. You are as capable as everyone else here of pulling out a good round, after that's done once, your next good round comes a lot quicker. There will be setbacks along the way but you can improve. Try not to focus on leader boards, set your self small goals. I started with goals like 4 birdies in a round, then finishing a round under par, then a bogey free round, and so on. The important to remember is it is a game and meant to be fun, when struggling, find yourself a course you like a play a round or 2 there. I call them confidence courses, courses you enjoy and play well on. I have a couple I fall back on when I need a confidence and fun boost. Also, play a round or 2 with other people, have a laugh over each others mistakes, make things seem fun again. Take a break from tournament play for a week every now and then, especially if there is a course you don't like coming up.Stick with it, I am sure you can turn it around and some day, I will be reading a post from you about how well something went. What ever you decide, I wish you all the best.

Jim, here's another vote for stick it through this week. I did 30 strokes worse in week 31 versus week 30. That's pretty depressing! At least my score missed the exemption cut-off by like 5 strokes. Otherwise I would have been extra bummed that my score misses the cut in CC-B week 31.
Some people have already said they're in the -20's in the higher CC's. But I think there will be plenty of people that are going to score above par on this one, so you never know how you'll end up.

For my first tournament that was pretty fun. This course was like being thrown in at the deep end but I think I did okay to shoot +3. I'm looking on with envy at those of you shooting -23. On the topic of feeling disheartened by the lack of improvement, all I can say is stick with it. I played about a dozen practice rounds on this course without shooting under par and then by round four I managed to shoot 70. Pretty dramatic improvement I thought. From scores of 83 in practice to just 1 bogey in my last round. I guess the trick is to keep learning from your mistakes.

I have just withdrawn. Not happy with my game at the moment on these tougher courses. I had some putts that went 2 foot for no reason and it shits me, so I have pulled the pin. Will weigh up entry in the next tournaments too.
Good luck to all.
Cheers Stu

Pat on the back for completing it bud. They'll be many people who don't through frustration so just remember that. And good luck with the next course. Only played a few holes and that's another that I'm not looking forward to, more so than Thousand Island in fact

We all struggled -- nobody loaded up this game and went out and shot 62 in their first round. Practice is everything. Hang in there and remember that par is never a bad score. Take birdie chances as they come and, as in real golf, patience is rewarded. Good luck!
