Congrats to the PGA who only has 1 suspect offender. I hav spoken to alot of people who think its not possible to detect people cheatin wit certain devices. I think anyone caught straight shooting shud be named and shamed. This way we hav full transparency on the issue. Sending private emails seems a bit wooly to me. this right here |

But Tim and Scott have always handled this issue very professionally and it convinced me that a private warning and/or dismissal has always ended up being in the best interest of TGCT and has prevented the "tumble-down" drama effect. Id even go one step further and say we shud be shown the data that says someone has straight shot. I think the integrity of the site wud be well kept as the secrecy of whos cheatin is a bit wooly. Im not saying I dont trust the guys to police this properly but to remove any suspicions id say the cheats shud be named and shamed and the relevant data shud be released to all members. |

Personally I don't care much for 'The Dirty 20' .. no need for names. They will be easily forgotten.
Great to see TGCTours is full of gentlemen and gentle ladies .. looking forward to more fair gaming!

Since father's day I have been playing with a titan one. (Don't worry my tgc submitted rounds are clean).
Rounds played right after fathers day was used with a stock controller hook to the titan one. Most of my scores lately have been with a hori hook to the titan one.
Don't know if they will give the same reading or not.
I know it sounds like over kill with the hori & titan one.
But the hori isn't 100% dead straight the titan one is.
Also the hori never gets a bad 90% shot. Lol.
I'm wearing my stock controllers out by swinging so hard.
The program my son put into my titan one is a simple one.
It just kills the x axis.

Mhm. But edgers and likes will not be catched by this then, and that is what all (PC users) are doing! You wont get a straight line, but you keep it well inside the cone.
Practice and feel....lol. ALL shots within 1-2 pixels are most probably not free-hand. If you have, lets say, 15-30 shots a round within 1-2 pixels, that is just impossible without edging. Sorry, no way around it.
THOSE stats would be interesting to see, not this rubbish about PURE lining it, as no one will be stupid enough to use it anymore.

In talking with a HB representative, he said it is "impossible" for any player to hit a 100% straight shot without the aid of some program, there are just too many variables and in all the shots they have analyzed they have yet to see a perfect shot. He included that even a shot that has a perfect white line is NOT a perfect shot if it was done without aids. This is how far down they can scrub the data.

Sad to see that 20 users tried to cheat the system in only two weeks.
Sad to see that cheaters get a warning.
Happy to finally have a good method to find those cheaters via the API.

We should also remember that the data HB decides to share with TGC Tours most probably is NOT everything they have. HB has no "horse in the race" when it comes to TGC Tours, they are just trying to ensure fair play with everyone. I'm pretty confident that even if they do not give TGC Tours all their data, if they catch something through their scrubbing they will politely let the admins know if something is amiss.
Second thing, every shot a player swings the amount of raw data that is captured is ridiculous. Most of it is used in the extensive calculations needed for the flight of the ball, some of it would be used for informational purposes. Anyone who thinks HB can't tell the exact stroke everyone of us takes down to the nanometer is fooling themselves. If they have coded things well, they know every piece of hardware in your system, they can know (whether they go this deep or not) every piece of software in your computer, they will know every setting of your hardware you use and they will know what controller you use and what software is used to control it.
I remember playing on a online poker site (still legal in Canada) that they could tell every piece of software you had installed on your machine and if they caught you with any one they deemed as "illegal" cause it gave you an unfair edge, they locked your account and you lost your money.
