mattf27 - could you please delete the first entry of Greenstone River. Mistakenly didn't change the theme from Alpine - the second submission has it correct as a Delta. I can't really delete it technically, but I can disapprove it so it doesn't show up in the database. For future reference though, if there's an error in your submission, we can just edit it so that it's correct.

Thanks - disapproving is fine. Didn't realise the edit was possible so good to know

Hey guys,
I've submitted five courses - so far two have been accepted and one has not (two others are pending).
The rejected one was called Parkland Municipal - would just like to see why it didn't make the cut, thanks.

As well as the official feedback here, in case you didn’t know already - this course is going to be on TGC Course Review tomorrow, where they’ll look at why it might not have been approved.

SMJHV 2019 Oceanside - not approved This course needs a little work in all of the major areas. Sculpting and surfacing were rather rough, and the design of the holes themselves was lacking in spots. Lots of shots or green complexes that didn't quite work. Certainly not a terrible course by any means, but I'd definitely recommend the designer check out a couple tutorials on the design tools.

This is a good design, and I think it would be a really good course, but for the almost completely flat greens (a few have been sculpted, and where this is done, it is done well). Some of the bunkers need some sculpting as well. Which is a bummer as again I really feel this is a nice course - routings, overall contouring, hazard placement, transitions, etc, are all fine. A little bit of time spent putting some actual sculpting into the greens would have elevated this to Approved.

OK, thanks guys - I guess I just needed to wait a little longer. It looks like the last two courses got accepted, so I guess 4 out of 5 is pretty good I don't think I'll worry about this one too much; it was intended to be very much on the short and easy side of things, so perhaps it isn't really suited for serious tournament play anyway. I'm a longtime Perfect Golf guy who only recently made the transition so I'm still sort of finding my way around this a bit.

I've played all of your TGC 2019 courses, except for Parkland Municipal, and that was only because it got published without my knowing about it. All four of your TGC 2019 courses are superb... they look so natural and are highly playable. Parkland Municipal got booked for today's Digital Sportspage Society tournament and they are sometimes a tough group to please. I'll let you know how the feedback for it goes. Based on the screenshots posted of it in the official forum, it looks like another winner to me!

Parkland has some flattish greens so I think that might the issue. I intentionally made it really easy.
Got more stuff in the pipeline coming, plus I'm starting to work on RCRs now.
I haven't defected from PG or anything but right now I'm just more inspired to design over here.

St Alberts - not approved This one just isn't quite there in terms of sculpting or surfacing yet. Some decent ideas, I'd just recommend the designer keep at it, perhaps look at some tutorials for tips on how to work the tools.

Looking for feedback on Tower Isle Golf Resort. Thanks for the time. Sorry it took me a couple days to get back to you, just forgot to pop in this thread. Better late than never, here's the notes from the reviewer:
Lots of good ideas and some of the holes play well, but there's too many issues: * Many areas either oversculpted, or undersculpted. Many bunkers just look unnatural and need more time * Greens have a lot of severe runoffs * Got into an unplayable area which wasn't marked OB * Wavy/ridged fairway edges, obviously used shapes and not splines to build the fairways * General polish and smoothing needed in many locations

Figured lots going on. 2 questions. 1) Where did you get caught in an unplayable area? 2) Are shapes now frowned upon to build fairways/greens? Thanks.

I can't answer the first one, as I wasn't the reviewer. I can get back to you on that one though. Second question: There's a handful of guys who still use shapes, and when done well, there's no problems with it if you prefer that. However, it requires some expertise in order to get a clean look with shapes, and some extra effort so the surfaces look natural.
