Castlelake Golf Club - Not Approved first off, wow. This is a unique course This is unusual but This is a case of OVERplanting. There is extreme lag on multiple holes on this course due to the sheer volume of rock and pink plants on the screen at the same time to the point of it almost being unplayable. staring at this pink mass brought my FPS down to 5 This is also a brutally hard course. I would descrbe it like one of those old tiger woods fantasy courses like the predator that beat you up for fun. so this is what I have to say: nice effort, TGC tours isn't really looking for courses this difficult (it would be too hard even for our best tour!) Very lumpy cart paths (no golf cart could drive on those) Minor surfacing issues (extremely wobbly fairways) Major sculpting issues like extremely lumpy fairways (rich coming from me) and a general roughness to greens that make them ohhhhhh so hard to play.

TNT Cypress Pointe GC - not approved
Name aside, there's multiple major sculpting/surfacing issues here. You need all of the below:

The Country Clasic - not approved
To start this with a bit of a rant, if you misspell your course name and don't bother to add a description, I basically already know I'm looking at 'Not approved' before even loading up the course. It takes literally ten seconds of your time.
---
As for the course, it's not miles away but misses on a few big things, namely bunker sculpting (most are dead flat and the ones in front of the third green are tilted dead away from the player), cart path running through the fairway on 1, green speeds at very slow really don't help (aim for above 6.7 at absolute lowest on the in-game speed settings, or 155 feet on the putting distance when you playtest) and there's a very questionable second hole where hitting at the green and accepting the water ball left me an easy wedge from heavy rough and a straightforward birdie - there's no point in playing the hole as intended. Be careful with 90 degree + doglegs.
See below - hits all the points above with some further explanations.

Lake Muskoka Golf Club - not approved It's literally the same course as above, but at least the name is spelled correctly. Still no description though

Kingsthorne Park GC - not approved lots of positives here with good planting and a nice parkland feel. Surfacing issues (oddly wobbly fairway edges, wobbly bunker edges) scale issues (unusually small greens, inconsistency in sizing, greens are smaller than even pebble beach greens) Lumpy, and sometimes bulbous tee boxes (I dont usually scrutinize these too harshly but it was visibly lumpy on tees like hole 11) some general sculpting and blindness issues but nothing to crazy. This course shows promise, Im sure the next one will be a great one Just a question about the blindness which hole/s did you find the blindness issues as I had not noticed any of that. Thanks

Thanks just some minor ones, you actually were really good about keeping bunkers visible off the tee for the most part. Hole 4's second shot comes to mind as being blind regardless of where you hit the drive. I can understand the semi-blindness off the tee on 14 (feels intentional with that nice bunker up front). For the most part a lot of the sightlines could use the tee's being elevated a bit more in places to give you a bit of a nicer view off the tee. Hole 15 for instance has a very obscured view of the fairway and green complex that bumping the tee up 5-10 feet would fix. I just want to emphasize though that this was a minor gripe, the bigger problems with the course were the bunker sculpting and shaping, as well as the surfacing of some of the fairways being super wobbly

Kapalua Plantation Course v3 - not approved
Please don't resubmit courses, even if you've done work to them - we don't re-review. Appreciate this might be frustrating, but if we did, we'd get every not approved course resubmitting multiple times having flattened one tee box etc.

Pacific Pine G&R Stadium - Not Approved
This course isn't far off from being approved but ultimately it was a sum of different issues arising on just about every hole that lead me to not approved. The biggest issues:
- Major bunker sculpting issues. For the most part, the bunkers are very deep in the middle and high on both sides. Bunkers should have a high side and a low side to them. A bunker with a 6' drop into it from the surrounding area is rather difficult to get in and out of and not very much fun to play from either. - Bunker surfacing issues. Bunkers were brushed into fairway, light rough, and heavy rough depending on the hole. - Hole designs. Cutting off a fairway at 295y and building bunkers for the next 25y isn't the best strategy when the land doesnt dictate any reason for the fairway to be split other than removing the ability to hit driver. There was another hole on the back where the fairway started at 240y from the tee and was a narrow fairway whether I wanted to hit driver or 3w. If somebody is playing with shorter clubs and/or the wind is blowing in, they might not be able to reach the fairway. - Planting/shadows. Using 100' tall trees along sides of holes can work...but when they are around the greens they put giant shadows across parts of the surface which makes it hard to see the green movement when putting through shadows. - Unintentional blindness. Most of your sightlines were good but there were two par 3's where I couldn't see the water/bunkers short of the green. When you've spent time building an environment around a hole, make sure to let us see it! - Crowds/stadium seating. I get that you're going for a stadium course...but this was a bit too much. I had multiple holes where my PC dropped down to 15-20fps leading to a lot of stuttering swings. I can only imagine how quickly this course would melt an older console.
EDIT - Upon playing the course a second time, I didnt experience any frame rate issues this time so it must've been something off with my PC the first time around. My opinion about the stadium and crowds is still valid as no professional tournament features grandstands on all 18 holes for a variety of reasons.

Wild Dunes - Not Approved A bit more attention to detail is needed. Some planting was directly on fairway surfaces, and the transitions from fairway to green were too sharp. Hole playability needed some work, some very narrow fairways. The noon lighting didn't help as well, as reading the greens was very hard to do. Thanks for the review. Great to have some specific feedback to work on next time (already found some great tips on transitions). Didn't even think about the lighting. Question - I used a putting grid when testing out the greens... is this not advisable if trying to create more difficult undulating greens?

Yorkshire Pines GC - Not Approved
Your planting is pretty well done and your bunker sculpting on early holes is not too far off. As the round stretched on, a lot of the bunkers lacked any real sculpting beyond brushes plopped down in the rough Continue to work on your fairway splines as every fairway was weaving back and forth...or are these fairways built with rounded brushes? I ran into unintentional blind shots on 6 holes in a row at one point. The 2nd hole is a blind tee shot into a fairway that ends at 298y while running downhill into water I can't see. A bit harsh, no? 5th hole needs to be blown up The giant mass of trees and bushes in the middle the 7th fairway reminded me of the Totem Pole hole at Gentz Homestead

I can now go back and look at the points made. Bunker Sulipting is a hard one to get right but I will keep trying. Shaping them is not easy formed as I am terrible at drawing so maybe try something else with shaping.

The grid is an absolute must or else you'll run the risk of putting pins on illegal slopes, and not knowing which slopes feed to where. b101 has a playlist called "Designing better greens" which is all you need: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsuNZuawe0H0_U-2vOFXVTqeEBtVUA6ZR

Palm Center Golf - Not approved Resubmission. please dont do that I'm sorry. I didn't know that you shouldn't represent modified courses. Of course, I have read all your advice and I will submit new routes until I understand why they are rejected. A big congratulations to all of you for your time spent checking Christophe

Palm Center - Not Approved Similar to your last submission, Forest Jump, the hole concepts are fine but this course feels like a step back from that. A few suggestions: - use "smooth path" on anything you spline to straighten out the lines. - use "toggle second surface" to add a band of light rough (or heavy rough) around your fairways. This creates a consistent width of rough rather than trying to brush it pin and the sizes continually varying. - tie in fairway spline points to green spline points. This creates a seamless transition between surfaces rather than one surface ending and another beginning next to it. - Get away from relying on auto gen planting. It doesnt look natural because the game never sinks down any plants or trees so you end up with trunks of bushes sticking up out of the ground everywhere like lollipops. Not the best look IMO. - If you're building a course in 3 days, it's almost certainly not going to get approved unless you decided to not sleep and only took breaks from the designer to eat and go to the restroom. While mattf27 has been known to go on these sorts of design benders (and stream the entire process)...it's not an officially endorsed practice by the TGCTours community. Great! This is the answer I was waiting for. I have a small question. How do you manage to put 3 pictures of the course when we submit it on the "TGC Tours" website? Personally I am a PS4. Do I have to do the courses from a PC? Congratulations again for your involvement Christophe
