Nice start Rob! Can I remind you that there are people in the lower tiers hoping to be within 10 shots.... Don't worry mate - I ended up on less than my first round!!! 3rd round - couldn't keep the ball on the green on 4! Kept rolling back to my feet! Pride got in the way as I hit a wedge just past the hole on my 2nd shot that rolled off the green. Saw red and then actually HB moved me onto the next hole before I'd even finished - +8 on 1 hole! Still, got my first albatross on the 9th on the same round. Crazy game. Tough course!

Well looks like I won't be staying in CC-A for long like I predicted. I will get my second strike in a row this week. I shot a 71-67-72-77. No one to blame but myself and Dr. Yeti for all these OBs lol. Good winds for all rounds and I couldn't putt a lick.
I was -2 after the turn on the last round. Tee shot on #10 was a dead pull and went into another hole down into a ravine and was declared a water ball instead of OB. The drop place was on the wrong fairway and I couldn't get back to the hole so I dropped on the tee box. Second shot landed in heavy rough next to the fence. After hitting into into the second tench OB three times I finally got it out. The course ranger finally ran me out with a 12 on that hole and destroyed my whole mediocre tournament. I probably wouldn't have made top 70 anyway but that cemented it.

I want to win this one. I mean, who wouldn't want that Shakeweight trophy?
Anyway, haven't started yet - I played the practice tour that oswinner set up, ended up +10 or something. The winner this week will be someone who plays conservatively and avoids the OB! I used the practice rounds to experiment and occasionally ended up with big numbers.
Otherwise, love the course. If someone hits -40 this week they'll truly have earned it.

I managed to get it back on the fairway using a 9 iron but that was after 3 other attempts with other clubs! With OBs and some tricky greens any round could be a disaster on this course.

Looking at the scores posted I'm really gutted I didn't take my time with this tournament. Playing four turn based rounds back to back when I was already a tired soul was complete burnout. Ah well, only myself to blame, on to next week!

Round one was a battle against my swing, round two was a battle against the winds. The wind was hitting sixteen miles a hour at times, not really what you want on a course like this but that's what I got for round two so that's what I had to play. Not much happened over the first four holes, par all the way, maybe I could have taken a birdie on one or two of the holes but they were not easy chances so I was happy with par. I picked up a shot on the fifth, there was a strong head wind which helped slow my ball down for a easy birdie. The long par four sixth was a struggle but I managed a par. I was finding myself using a five wood on a lot of second shots but it seemed to be working out. I dropped my first shot on the eight. The par threes were the thoughest holes with this wind, no real chance to recover from a mistake. It was a crosswind this time which I simply just got all wrong. I got that shot back on the next hole before I lost it again on the ninth. Even for the back nine, I was happy with that and happy with the way I was playing the conditions.
My drive on the tenth went over 350 yards, it just went on and on. I over hit my second and went fifty feet past the hole. It was the worst sort of putt, long and downhill so I was amazed and shocked when it dropped for eagle. It was the perfect start to the back nine. I was playing as carefully as I could, just to make sure I hit the fairway. I was playing all sorts of clubs off the tee just to give myself a chance at par. The next four holes were parred but I could not keep it going and finally dropped another on the fifteenth. Still one under with three to play, I would take that. I did not get to take that. On the seventeenth a strong wind,a underpowered shot left me out of bounds. I over hit my next tee shot, erring on the side of caution and the best I could do was a six. It was very disappointing, I had played the conditions well, I played a lot better than yesterday but came unstuck on one hole. My approach on the last was perfect, into a head wind I left it four feet from the hole. I think I needed that birdie, just to recover a little from the seventeenth. Outside of that six, I am very happy with the way I played, it was not a easy round but I felt I battled well. Two rounds to go, I will need to score a bit better to avoid my second strike but will have fun either way.

so is the wind fix in this tourney? For whatever reason when I registered it didn't take, might sit this one out if the wind fix is not in yet. Still will play it just for fun though.

alright then I am going to set this one out. Still going to play, just have two strikes and dont want to be demoted because my last two tours I have had winds between 9-15 every round.

Be careful Ryan, you'll be cursing if you play well haha. Yeah it will be my luck that I play lights out LOL. I've played this course a lot, and I typically score ok. Like 7-9 under range but that was the original pin locations. I'll post how I did.

terrible course IMO...and desert courses are my favorite.... not in the history of golf has there EVER been out of bounds directly between the tee and the green that separates fairways. And the 95% GLITCH is still hanging it's head over every swing...I know TGC are not the dev's...and it's not their fault AT ALL...

I'm on an exemption this week but it looks like I will back to Circuit B after this tourney. 72,67,71,72. I went out of bounds 3 times I think and it was scramble city. I want to see my round stats because I know I went in the sand a lot. Hard course but not in a good way because not only are the fairways tight (which I totally support) but they are also so elevated that it's very hard to predict where you will end up because of the unknown bounces your ball takes once it hits the ground. If that wasn't tricky enough there are many fairways that if you miss a little it's bye-bye ball, O.B. So all in all not terribly disappointed in the way I played.
