finished my 4 rounds....wind for all 4 rounds was 7-9 mph , went out of bounds 6 times overall (4 of those from bad bounce on fairway) , course can really bite you in arse if you be aggressive and miss your landing , so started out ok with 67 ,70 ,70 then i was getting really frustrated with putts just sitting on the lip and got careless and hit a 77....

Another week and another laggy course, this is becoming a habit. Yes its another beautiful course, but does anyone at all bother to try these on different platforms before there picked ? Let me ask directly, did anyone try this on a PS4 or XB1 ? BTW I'm probably going to go down another "flight" as CC-A also needs to be played at least -10 under a round to make the top 30 , which is what it will take to erase my demotion strikes back to zero. Played some good rounds too at least for me, even one at -9 under which is way above my usual average. But these laggy courses are not fun at all, better choices need to be made. This course was tested by a full team of testers and passed. In no way can I stress this enough... the performance of each course varies for each person, regardless of platform. If we never passed a course if just 1 person experienced even minor lag, we would not have any courses to play. Your issue is with HB, not with TGC Tours or the testers.

What can I say... I was full of it sat at -12 through the first round. Really pleased as hit the ball well, putting was pretty good bar a couple of missed sitters. Thought, might end up near the top if I can keep that going. Worst thought ever! First round had low winds, 2nd round was 9-15 with most shots over 10! Struggled round E par but torn between shooting that in those conditions and scoring badly. Still, not too bad. 2 rounds to go and the wind was low again... Quietly confident... Er, er! Wrong. 4th hole was a nightmare. Was E going onto it and worked out that after 8 shots over par HB moves you onto the next hole, probably to hide your embarrassment, probably to save their stats! Anyway - the sodding ball kept rolling off the front... No matter where I hit it. By that point the self destruct button had been fully activated and I walked off +8! So, in 2 and a bit rounds I had slumped somewhere dark and dank!
Then, brief glimmer of hope as I hit an albatross on 9. Glorious 3w from 254yds! I formed a hazy comeback plan in my mind as I hit the back 9 and got myself back to +3 before dropping a couple more. So, ended that round -7.
Might as well get last round out the way, first tee downwind 11 - another high wind round. With tough tee positions. F'ing great! I'll sum up real quick - walked off -1 for the round, -8 overall.
Tough, tough course. Annoyed with some of the lag but I was raging by that point anyway.
Also miffed to see Gavlaar hit his drive into the water on the crazy par 4 with OB everywhere. Only to see him hit the only tiny piece of water that wasn't covered by OB and walk off with bogey 5 when it should have been 6/7!
(Bitter to the end!)
Good luck - really tough, but enjoyable experience.

I've played practiced rounds on Day 1 and 2 pins and the course only really slowed down for me on hole 15. (PS4). It wasn't much of a problem.
I did learn from some of my mistakes on my +7 round one to improve to a -9 on round 2 during my practice. Hopefully I can translate that over to the actual tournament.
I'm having a hard time judging distances off the tee box for some reason. I guess it is the changing elevations with small landing zones in some areas. This may be the first time I use ghost balls to help me out in a tournament.

Awful lag on 15th, apart from that fine. The weeks tournament will be interesting. It's a course you really have to watch. Lots of out of bounds, heavily sloped greens, big elevation changes. So far 3 practices - Day 1 - light winds +14 about 7 out of bounds and 2 NINES! Day 2 - very strong winds (up to 18) +4 Day 3 - light winds -6 Crazy stuff

I finished all 4 days. I started off with, what I though was, a strong score of 66. Followed it with a lackluster 72. Then I thought I played well round 3, but only shot a 68. My 4th round I was -4 through 9. Hitting great shots (for me), but couldn't sink enough putts. Then came the 10th. I hit my tee shot into the heavy rough between the first and second fairways. I had about 60% on, I think, a 7-iron. Hit it in between the 2nd and 3rd fairway areas, OB! So, I just clubbed down to a 9 iron but didn't think about the percentages increasing and hit it in the same exact area. 2 balls OB! I scored a 9 on that hole! Finished the round even, 72.
That makes my final tournament score a -10. I think I'm gonna be close to being out of the top 70 for the first time. I'm disappointed in just 1 hole really. Other than maybe 4 or 5 putts left just short, I was pleased with my play on this tough course.

An 11 on the 4th where my ball kept rolling back to me. Probably should have just stuck it on the back tier and tried to 2 putt. Pride got in the way!!! Bit like Kev in Tin Cup!!

I really did not know what to expect from this weeks event. The course has torn me a new one on more than one occasion. Anything can happen out there and reading some others posts, it already has for some. I was relieved to see winds of fives miles a hour when I went to the first tee, not that it stopped me putting it the rough, I layed up but played my third shot a bit to cautiously and could only two putt. Which is ok, my plan was to play safe, take me pars and hope some chances come my way. I hit me second tee shot a little to long, it rolled just off the green. I elected to putt rather than chip which worked out nicely for a birdie. I left my approach on the third about fifteen feet from the hole but it was not a difficult putt, birdie number two for a decent start. All my good work was undone on the fourth, I took the risk of going over the rocks, the bounce did me in, if it had went right, I would have been fine, it bounced left out of bounds. My fourth shot rolled down the hill, I pitched it up, the ball stopped, then began its agonising to watch slow roll, it rolled behind me. The anything that can happen was happening. I finally got the ball on the green and one putted, one over after four.
I flirted twice with the out of bounds on hole five, the rough saving me both times, this was getting nerve racking. I got away with par this time but was going to have to slow down, take more care. Two pars followed which could easily have been dropped shots but my luck ran out on the eight when I dropped another shot, I was not playing well. I finally picked up a shot on the ninth, one over for the front nine. It could have been so much worse. At this stage I would be happy to take one over for the round but with nine to play, the anything could still happen.
I hit the green in two on the tenth, sounds good but considering my plan was to be short of the green for a pitch not so good. I did put my fifty foot putt to within six feet but then managed to lip out the birdie putt. It was really a chance to go even thrown away. I threw away another birdie on the eleventh before making a balls of the twelfth for double bogey. I was starting to try to hard, making silly mistakes. I rushed my swing on the thirteenth, eighty seven percent shot, at least it landed on the fairway all be it a long way from the pin. My second shot hit the pin, if it had not, the ball would have rolled way past, a unexpected birdie, one I was happy to take. I rushed my swing again the very next hole with the same result. Sadly did not hit the pin with my second this time. I played a little draw in hope it would slow the ball down and while it did roll off the green, it was not to bad, seven feet from the pin. I chipped my third shot in from birdie. Two very unexpected and lucky birdies but relying on luck was not nothing I should hope for. I really needed to start playing
No luck on hole fifteen, I played it all wrong, off the green, a terrible pitch, a bogey. I hooked my tee shot on the sixteenth. How it did not end up out of bounds I can not say, it most have been inches from out of bounds. A careful seven iron put me back on the fairway and I then put my third to within six feet. I don't know what was going on, my bad tee shots seemed to end up as birdies, what a strange round. Then it got stranger, I hit the pin again on seventeen. Sadly it did not drop for a ace but I gladly took the birdie. The final hole was boring, I hit the fairway, I hit the green, I two putted for Par.
Even for my first round and a mix of feelings. I did not play well but got away with it at times. I could have been four under but messed up at times. I could have had a eagle and ace but was happy with those birdies. Let's call round one eventful. I am both looking forward to and dreading round two because as you know, anything can happen.

Looks like I will just be joining CC-A for one week. This course is tough, and the constant 95% shots do not help. First round I struggled to an even par outing in 5-9 mph winds. Played the second round immediately afterwards and go 15 mph winds. Numerous balls were hit OB because of the 95% shots. Its frustrating but oh well. Shot +7. I started the 3rd round then put the controller down when Jimmy Johns arrived. I'll finish later this week.

Like many others, found that Round 2 derailed my scores (ugh!). I'm also dealing with that swing bug/change on Xbox one that has forced me to change how I swing on TGC to avoid a 95% shot. Unfortunately that swing change (two finger swing instead of just thumb) results in an occasional wayward tee shot that cost me big time on this course due to the amount of OB. In Round 2, I was -4 after 5 holes and things went downhill from there. It seemed like each round brought one trouble hole and for me it was hole 18. I ended up with a snowman (!!) after hitting a rock on my 2nd shot that put me OB. Tough wind off the tee (13+) put me in a bad position and I couldn't recover. Ended at 74 (+2). In round 3, I triple bogeyed hole # 4 as I chipped up and subsequentially rolled off the green three times. We need some options for short chips as I couldn't get anything up, and a flop would just end up rolling back off too! Tough pin. I recovered for one of my better rounds - a -5 (65) -- back 9 was great. Round 4 was nothing spectacular - just survival golf. Another OB, another double bogey but besides that, I managed a -3 (69). Total score, -13. Not a great effort but it looks like most others are struggling too. Fun to have scores a bit lower than the typical -30/-40/-50 good luck to all and may your drives stay straight!

65 on R1 - winds 3-8 mph 76 on R2 - winds up to 19 mph (garbage golf) R3 & 4 to follow R2 and 4 had upto 19 for me. Makes this course beyond tough! Well done for sticking with it and good luck for final rounds

Nice start Rob! Can I remind you that there are people in the lower tiers hoping to be within 10 shots....
