Ah yes. I was at both games as a very young lad. You must love Stevie Walsh after that own goal. Massive pitch invasion at the end. As for the 7-1. Ewww. Nae good. I did happen to get into a national magazine during that one though. Picture of me with a foxes hat on my dads shoulders looking horrified as Andy Cole was tearing us apart. Oh yes but didn't he score at both ends? There was a fair bit of trouble, I wasn't at the game but I did read reports. The 7-1 was probably the best day I've ever had as a Newcastle fan. To get promoted in such style was pretty amazing. It was 6-0 at half time and it looked like the goals wouldn't stop. I'm not surprised you look horrified! That was one hell of a championship team.

Yeah he equalised in the last minute which started a Leicester pitch invasion. Then 30 seconds later put it in his own net which started a Newcastle pitch invasion and because there was only like 15 seconds left the ref thought 'oh smeg it' and blew for full time. Crazy scenes. Your team the season after was stunning back then for that division. A few seasons later being 3-1 up at St.James' only for Shearer to back a hat trick in the last 15 minutes was heartbreaking.

Well this tread has turned into a Newcastle V Leicester thread. Sorry everyone. The survival game was pretty amazing, I can remember it like yesterday. It was a great season to watch. If it wasn't for Beardsley missing the first 7 or 8 games through a broken cheekbone in a friendly(Razor Ruddock) we may have even won the title. The attacking football we played was so exciting. That 4-3 comeback was special. I can remember we were getting beat 3-1 and singing 'We're gunna win 4-3' but we never expected it to happen

Top 5 Sports: 1. Golf... Not my favorite to watch but Im still obsessed with it. Im a tiger fan, his 2008 win at torrey made me fall in love with the game. 2.Basketball college over the NBA any day (U of I Fighting Illini and the Bulls) 3.Baseball... Grew up on it, has some sentimental value and I love my Cubbies 4.American Football: Im an American, sorry its fun to watch. (I suffer with the Bears and my atrocious Illini) 5. Hockey. Im in the Chicago area and my hawks make the spring and early sumeer a pretty damn exciting time and the city erupts. (Blackhawks) 6. (I know Im over my limit) Soccer: Really starting to get into it the last few years, just wish I had a hometown team to get into that wasnt in the garbage MLS or retirement league. Big premier league fan and Messi is an absolute legend.
But seriously I consider myself a huge sports fan and I will watch just about anything that isnt cars going around in a circle.

It's pretty true. I hate Man Utd. Their plastic fans are the worst in the world. They need to stick to eating prawn sandwiches.

I hate Sunderland way more than anyone else. I used to support Everton when I was younger until I realised it's all about your local team. 1986 cup final was a classic but I chose the wrong team to support. It was pretty much all downhill from that point. My fault.

I was in Newcastle for my mates stag doo a couple of months back. Forgot my ID which wasn't a problem until we attempted to hit the strip club. Nothing quite like walking back to the hotel drunk with nothing but yourself and a greasy pizza box over Gateshead bridge. So tranquil after the hustle and bustle of the nightlife just mere minutes walk away. Loved it. Full moon aswell. If my girlfriend were there I may have proposed on the spot haha.

Interesting discussion. 1. Basketball/NBA. Played the sport through high school and first year in college. Huge Atlanta Hawks fan. Kobe was my favorite player growing up. 2. Golf. Played through high school and college. Scratch player for awhile but now that I am only in college for school, I don't play as much. Handicap around 4 I believe but getting back down towards scratch hopefully. Favorite player is and always has been Sergio, which is weird since most Americans don't like him. Love his passion, love his honesty, love his skill set. 3. American Football. Never played the sport because it was dangerous and I played tons of junior golf around the nation, but it may be the best to watch. I'm a sports journalist and cover a lot of football. Favorite pro team are the New Orleans Saints since 2005 after Hurricane Katrina. Stopped liking my local team Falcons after Michael Vick. Been supporting NOLA ever since. NCAA team is Georgia Tech. Been covering Georgia Tech sports for awhile now. Love the offense, rugby style in a way. 4. Baseball. Team is the local Atlanta Braves. Sorry reebdoog. Also cover the Braves as a journalist. 5. Hockey. Don't have a team since the Thrashers left Atlanta. Just follow the sport a bit, mainly watch playoffs and play the video game. I wish hockey was more relevant in the south because I love the game. 6. Soccer. Gotten more and more into it recently. Atlanta is about to get an MLS team which is cool. I'm a bit of a FIFA video game fanatic and will take ANY of you on. haha. But I of course root for US nationally, my backup is Belgium, love the way they play and love Hazard. I would root for Chelsea because of Hazard but the fans seem very obnoxious and annoying. Still deciding who to root for BPL, but it won't be Man City or Liverpool. Help me out guys. Love Messi, can't stand Ronaldo. 7. Tennis. Don't watch anymore but enjoy casually playing. Root for Nedal if I do watch. 8. Racing. Huge Nascar fan for years but lost some of my love for it. Will tune in very rarely, root for Kevin Harvick and Jeff Gordon. 9. Boxing. Love watching. Don't root for anyone, just root against Floyd Mayweather. 10. Uhhh I enjoy skiing. lol
