Had a chance to play to play CLV's course, couple different day/pin setups so far, and what a phenomenal job he has done. I've been researching the course a lot anyway because I'm a huge golf fan and play a lot of fantasy golf, and he has gotten as close as you could to the real deal with the current abilities of the GNCD. I'm hopeful we can use the course to host a major or maybe a big end of the year tournament like tour championship of FedEx Playoff. My selfishness won't allow me to wait patiently for maybe the US Open next season. I'm guessing the course won't get selected to host the British or PGA as there are multiple great Links courses I think might get picked such as Royal Troon, Royal Birkdale, etc. Also I'm thinking we will be at Whistling Straits just like this year's actual location for the PGA. In the meantime, playing a nice little tournament that got setup on PC using the course for the US Open which is a lot fun. What are your guy's thoughts?

My thoughts exactly. Amazing course. Great test of golf. Shame it couldn't have been done in time for the US Open but obviously there was a competition for that one. Maybe have the Tour Championship here? Either way, I'm a lowly Web/CC player so it probably won't affect me but the course needs a tournament for sure.

I was thinking maybe president's cup or something? I may like it a little more because for some reason I was just tearing it up. I loved using those slopes for everything. It made it really fun. I've got the lead on the ps4 version right now at -23 I believe. So it's definitely difficult.

I would keep the majors as real life and get CLV to do them all, it must take so much patience, superb work

I do appreciate the thought, though. It's a good 3 or so month process from start to finish for each course, so it's hard to get these things out and function in the real world at the same time. I've got my eye on Oakmont, though, for next year. It's about 4th or so on my to do list.

Just played Saturday in 15-25 mph wind, mostly 20+. Best 75 I have ever hit. A lesson for everyone creating a links course, large fairways needed to accommodate for the wind. Enjoyed the nuts off it!
Also, I've noticed you've been designing Merion. I really really look forward to playing this beauty :-)

Yea, Craig is in a class by himself in terms of real life creations.

The best course I've played yet. It looked and played amazing especially considering the limitations of that theme. I only had winds of around 10MPH but my -4 was one of the best rounds I've played. I love how the greens are firm but you find slopes to help get the ball close. My plan on most holes was to get on a flat part of the green and 2 putt and birdies on the par 5s and short par 4s. I loved every minute. I think I had 4 bogies, 6 birdies and an eagle flop in. I missed my usual 5 or 6 easy putts but on the flip side I hit a couple of <100% shots (My fault) and they worked out better. I can't wait to play the rest of the rounds. I'll probably be +10 on them all!!!

It is spectacular. Gets better with every play and CLV got the ball to behave in realistic ways off the banks that I thought were not possible in the game. Just masterful.
Must be getting a big tourney - hopefully after wind is locked in as it really shines in high winds!

Get Oakmont done! I started this ages ago but not touched it since I finished the 2nd hole, the rural theme looks great for this course as well.

I'm not sure I'll have it done in time for TGCT to look at when it comes up in our rotation. Like you said, doing a true to life replication is a time eating, pain staking process.

Your Augusta National is still my favourite course, although it killed me in round 3 oft the Masters with a +6.

Watching the tournament live at this minute and I can seriously make out the holes. Well done sir! Yeah, it's a good re-creation. I just wish I could drive as far as Dustin! I knew my first round was an excellent one for me. +4 and +2 on my next two rounds proved that! This included a 6 at the 12th on the 2nd round. If the course is picked for TGCT then the no chip on the green rule may have to be reviewed. On the 12th I ended up at the from on the green on the lower tier. I hit a putter full power and it didn't get up the hill. It ended up further away to when I started. The only way I could get onto the top tier was to flop. Obviously if on tour I'd be disqualified.
