If I was to go by the donation levels alone, I would bet against it. But, even if the tournament aspects of the site don't continue, I hope that the organizers of TGC will keep this forum alive so that people could still develope their platform specific tournaments, contests etc. Then if/when a new game is released, we might be able to resume as before. It's just my opinion but, if the new game is done on a new engine, I doubt that 2K would continue to support this site. That support was a legacy from HB Studios that I can't see 2K continuing. They might even be baking in cross platform support in the new game.

I feel a lot of people are burnt out on the game and noticed participation had dropped on the tours I will be surprised if we get another season on TGCTOURS, if we do it might be a smaller tour. We’ve still got our own society to play but even that has lost a few people in the last few months. Even if the society goes away I will still play this game and use the designer.

I’d imagine it’s entirely up in the air at the minute with both donations and finding out what 2k plan to do.

They wouldn't be accepting donations if they planned on canning the site. It's all up in the air since no one knows when the new game is out.

I believe a new game will be released. When l ? Well not gefore Christmas but I feel early next year. Why so late for me it's all to do with people they have taken from EA, they maybe improving on what is already been done. Another reason I feel a new game will happen is you don't do a survey unless you intend to carry on. Why ask question about changes if you don't intend on a new release. Just my thoughts on the game. As for the Tours only a small few will know the future under 2k23 but I think a short season will happen.

We plan on having a season - start date may be delayed if we're waiting on donations. Unfortunately Our mass emailer is down currently so we'll send out a blast via forums/discord/front page/twitter once we get through this week and the final fields are set.
Would be nice if a lot chipped in a little - many hands makes light work!

PGA 2K23 is now 2 years old. TGC has a strong and great community but sports games cannot survive for multiple years without new iterations.
I have donated in the past but until I see changes like I offer below, I feel less inclined to keep playing: - I do not like the way the tours are split. CC-A to CC-L, are you kidding me? It's dumb plain and simple. - There should be 3 categories, Pro, Amateur and Rookie. That's it. - Only Pro and Amateur can earn money. Anyone on Rookie Class who scores -10 or lower on any tournament automatically goes up to Amateur level. Anyone who wins a tournament in Amateur goes to the Pro level. Simple. - If you earn $100,000 or more through tournament earnings in one season at Amateur Class you automatically move to Pro level. If you are in the Pro Level and earn less than $75,000 for the season you move down to Amateur level. - If you earn less than $10,000 in one season in Amateur level you move down to Rookie. - Prize money needs to reflect good competition and reasons to move up. - Bigger prize money in Pro than Amateur.
- Top 65 players make the cut in Pro and Amateur. No cut in Rookie. - Everyone who makes the cut will earn some money.

I won't reply to all of your points, but going to three tiers? Might as well close up shop, IMO.
CC-A to CC-L isn't perfect, but it does give most players a chance at tangible progress, to win tournaments and compete against players mostly at their level.
That would be taken away from what, hundreds of players in your scenario? I'd be scared to see what donations would look like comparatively.

It's great the tours have reached there donation target but I'm disappointed they haven't changed it up a bit , 3 seasons on the exact same settings , the games burning out for a lot of peeps and a few changes wouldn't of harmed anybody , everybody is damm good at the game surely a few changes in the difficulty settings wouldn't of hurt anybody , something different , turning a few things off . Ideal time to try it in the exhibition events . But no , same settings , same outcomes , same courses.

The donation target has been reached because people want another season, of largely the same structure and settings. Various people have their opinions about that they would want moving forwards but the key is to have broad appeal, to as many people as possible.
Didn't TST move to Legend swing a while back (something I voted for at the time), but it just didn't appeal to as many people, so switched back.
Overall, I think TGC do a pretty impressive job at catering for everyone, taking into account the massive range of players and abilities that they are working with.
That's my opinion anyway and I'm sure other people will have theirs.
Looking forward to the new season (and hopefully some news about a new game at some point....)
Cheers all.
