Sorry for the slow reply here; work has been manic. Thank you all for the kind comments and the judges/organisers as ever for putting on a great contest to close out our current 2K23 cycle. This is a funny one to win, in a way, because I kinda changed my approach and didn't try to win it, if that makes sense. I picked Thompson to force me to do something different and once I made the plot for Acadia in about forty minutes, it kinda just all fell into place. I probably could have toned some parts down, but I loved the wildness of it and just had a lot of fun. Hard luck to gamesdecent and patlouvar - in my head the top three was always tough between those three and I know the feeling of just missing out all too well. Absolutely loved Penobscot and it had some of my favourite holes Petty's built, particularly on the back nine, whereas Pat's environment work continues to astound me. Loads of others I could mention, but standouts for me were waldo with his breakout course and ChrizZcE breaking into (I think) that top five. Both of those courses had awesome stretches of holes that really demanded your attention. The coolest thing for me is that we go into the next game (whenever that may be) with a much, much bigger pool of guys who can win a contest than in previous years. Can't wait to see what we get out of it, so save those good ideas for World Cup, which I'll look forward to running.
