If you want to study Ross, just ping Tanner, and then go play Caterfae. just played this, wow great course. That par 3 on the back 9, you know the one, that's an incredible hole. And thanks to Axel for recommending it. I think I'm going to go in a slightly different direction with regards to Ross, something a little more expansive. Ross was a very diverse designer. Been doing plenty of reading and deep diving into golf course architecture, really excellent decision from the organisers to change the national treasure comp to an architects comp, I think it's much more interesting this way. |

Thanks to axelvonfersen and others for organising this wonderful format for the National Treasure contest. These 16 designers, and many more, are national treasures to the world of golf. This format is a catalyst for me to take up more research about course design and the many talented course designers past and present. Hopefully it will rub off on my future course designs in PGA 2K. Should have done more research years ago!
Wishing all contestants the best for the contest, and may we all be inspired by the works of our course designer and their design principles and styles. My selected course designer (architect) is Dr Alistair McKenzie and I am designing on PS4 Pro. Cheers |
