First I have to apologize to this week’s designer BaconJunkie1 , I have lured him here under fall pretenses. You see, his family and friends approached me and told me I had to see something, while he was out designing, the brought me to his home and showed me something horrifying. Every inch of the kitchen was adorned with bacon-themed paraphernalia, from bacon-patterned oven mitts to bacon-scented air fresheners. The kitchen table was laden with various dishes, all showcasing the beloved meaty strips in various forms, from classic bacon and eggs to bacon-wrapped sausages and even bacon-infused pancakes. Bacon-themed cookbooks and magazines cluttered his coffee table, draped over a chair was a bacon-printed apron and a bacon-shaped hat. We are concerned they told me, they had tried talking to him but he just waved it off so they came up with a plan for a intervention, they just needed somewhere to meet, somewhere they knew he would be and having a course on tour meant they knew where he would be for that entire week, they begged me to give him a tour spot, they offered to pay me and being a leader in this community, who am I to say no to extra money, oh and helping other community members as well.
They told me how It all started and since there was money involved, I really had not choice but to listen. Growing up in a small town known for its hearty breakfasts and comfort food, Robert’s first encounter with the crispy delight happened during a family brunch at a local diner. As the waitress placed a plate of golden-brown, perfectly crisped bacon in front of him, the aroma enveloped his senses, The way the bacon crackled and sizzled, it was like a symphony to his taste buds. From that moment, he was hooked. instantly igniting a fascination that would soon turn into an all-consuming obsession. At first it was amusing, the same way any kids obsession can be but concern grew as he refused to try other foods, he would have tantrums at restaurants if he was served a burger, pasta or worst of all, the vegetarian option, they tried to get help but nothing worked, as he grew older and learned to cook himself, he discovered the wonders of bacon-wrapped everything, bacon-wrapped chicken, bacon-wrapped shrimp, bacon-wrapped bacon. He told his family he had it under control, that he knew when to stop, that he could stop when he wanted to, but that was not true, he did not control the bacon, the bacon controlled him.
So here we are today, coming together as a community to help Robert, his friends and family will speak to him in the club house but we can all help, if you see him out on the course, speak to him, show him your love and support and if somehow none of this works, if nothing can be done to help, I will set up a massive grill in the courses car park, supply all types of bacon and bacon products and leave Robert cook for us all, I mean, after all the trouble I took to put this course on tour, I might as well get a meal out of it, good luck all, have fun, maybe I will see you in the car park after your rounds.
