Season 10 - News & NotesWe've just wrapped up Season 9 - congrats to the winners of our Platinum (WGR #1 Adam Hawkins), Elite (Wayne Taylor - birdied last 3 holes to win by one), and Kinetic (money list leader Andrew Johnston) Tour playoffs. We will now take some time off and prep for Season 10. Here are the initial details as they are currently known! - Season 10 target start date is October 1st
- You will remain on your current tour if you have a card (no mass Qualifying)
- promotion marks to carry over, demotion marks will clear
- First week/event of the season will also be the first qualifying event - if you are a new member this will be your first chance to qualify for a tour card.
Qualifying registration is not available until we get the new schedule imported - new members will have to wait for the green light to register. Currently it will just give you an error. Exhibition EventsWe will run 4 exhibition events out of our TGCTours (Special Events) society during the off-season. Only those that currently have a tour card will be in the field for these events on our site. Feel free to play them regardless of your tour card status as they are just for fun. We will not be running any 3-click exhibition events as we have some work to do on that tour during the downtime. DonationsThank you to all who pushed us across our donation goal line for Season 9. We can't function without your generosity so it's much appreciated by all staff and members! If you're able to contribute we do offer the option for one-time donations or recurring donations. All the details, including the costs to run the site, are here on our donation page: www.tgctours.com/Player/Donations/Donation progress bar will reset prior to Season 10.

Looking forward to it and thanks to all involved for giving up their time to coordinate everything for another year. Any changes to be expected for the new season in terms of settings? I'll always nudge you guys towards legend swing! But understand if it's not on the table...

I’m wondering if there are any plans to split CC into the old Pro and Am so that tougher courses/conditions can be set for the higher skill level players and to save the scheduler having to cater for a wide spread of skills throughout 12 (maybe less?) divisions.

I don't foresee any format changes at this time. I do want to fix the bug that stripped people of 3-click tour cards if they got promoted on the main tours. That should help keep participation levels up on that tour next season. Adding another tour or splitting the Challenge Circuit is quite a bit of work behind the scenes - so it's very unlikely.
That said, I was trying to think of a way to do playoffs for the Challenge Circuit - but it's tricky. I'll start up a new thread in the future to try and see if there's something we can do there.

I'll always nudge you guys towards legend swing! But understand if it's not on the table... Agree with Legend Level 100%, at least for Kinetic Elite and Platinum I think in the past this was a thing but then people would purposefully avoid promotions to stay on lower swing difficulty because they preferred it. So really I think it would be all or nothing (or TST?! 👀) unfortunately. Don't want to force the issue or be a pain in the arse because I'm certain I've come across like a prick in the past about this but just thought I'd ask the question. I can see why they don't even if, imho, it would be much preferable.

And I would add lock marker off and, depending on my mood DEMAND no green grids haha but I know from asking Doyley before they try to make decisions that have the 80% in mind and not the top or bottom 10% (probably badly paraphrasing but hopefully I captured the ethos). Which I totally get. From a very selfish point of view is a shame for me because I think on legend with marker and grids off it's a fantastic grounded golf game and again, imho, those are the only settings close to competitive or difficult. So we've kind of ended up with no real competitive scene on the game. Which again, I totally understand. The tours are run amazingly well, it's a fantastic idea, cross platforms, promotions, demotions etc and it relies upon both donations and players. It doesn't work if players leave and it would seem a bit underhand to be like 'thanks for twelve grand we're changing everything the majority enjoy'. It is what it is I guess. And I'll shut up before I get start the whole 'i don't want to be a pain in the arse BUT...' nonsense lol I'll give it a go again this year and donate regardless. It's a great set-up and just a suggestion, really. 👍

Obviously u gotta keep the majority happy and with u needing as many peeps playing and keeping the donations coming . Looks like keeping it the same. But wouldn't it be nice just for a little change in settings or at least try it in the exhibition matches . Take the aiming marker away I'm sure that would drop the mega scoring and make it a little fairer as it will stop the mathematicians working everything out . Click click click cluck 🤣🤣🤣 Great job boys & girls running the tours

I'm only talking about the Master to Legend switch, the rest is fine ... even if I would like to see everyone play without a cam and without marker, the grids on the green are fine, without it it's like playing the lottery

It wouldn’t be an off-season without discussion about changing the swing difficulty.

And here I was thinking there's still aids available for the pro tours. If people wanted to play Legend, those niche societies would have more participation than they do.

72 under is the leading score on xbox , special events 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 To me that's a lottery, boring and unrealistic, worse then when the tours was playing pro in 21 🤣 same old same old . All you got do is adjust a couple of things to make it more interesting so why in the practice events are we playing it exactly the same way . Try taking the marker away . Stop people from using maths etc . So then it plays a little more like a golf game M bel Trame u was saying lottery for taking grids away , its only a lottery when people haven't learnt how to read a green, grey osprey people are lemmings they follow the tours , that's why there's not many legend folk playing , TST semi sim tour should definitely take the marker away and possibly try legend especially during the practice events as it's pretty dead at the moment. It's a discussion its off season so why don't we try different things why is it the SAME .

We always get this discussion where the serious simmers try to bully their way to the front. For the majority of people on this site it’s a game to have a bit of fun with each week with the extra that TGCT provide. You want sim, 2K23 have societies so you can try to get as close as possible
Having said that I can see the Pro Tours could take a dip in aids. Perhaps as suggested take the marker off. Green grids off? I dabble in TST and it can be a frustrating experience with the grids off. Stick that on the main tours and watch people run for the hills!! Legend swing? No issue with giving that a go, but is it for everyone?

No issue with giving that a go, but is it for everyone? Apologies. I did consider not even asking the question this time because fwiw I agree that it's not feasible on the main tours (either pro or all of them). It's a fact that there's no real demand for it at all. My thought was with the TGC Tours backing there might be more of a chance to get a competitive league off the ground or that maybe TST could morph into it. Really I'm just thinking out loud that I wish there was a more difficult scene on the game. Wasn't my intention to start chest beating. I'll back out of this one and leave it free for people to discuss the next season 👍
