Dear TST enthusiasts, This week we travel up north for the Canada Open. Obviously, traveling up north takes us to ... Scandinavia, which must thus be a province of Canada, with Finland as its capital. Therefore, Linna Golf in Finland it is: a wonderful course with some trees, some sun, bit of a breeze and gentle greens that roll nicely. Have fun and good luck, Frans PS For those of you who do not like pain, next week would be a good week to schedule a holiday...

One of my favourite courses from 21 this, Frans. First I've played it in 23 but it's just as good if not better with the roll on the greens.
I took a three month break from the game and only had time for one round on TST last week. Played all four here this morning like old times lol. -28 iirc. Pleasantly surprised how quickly I've picked the tempo back up but I can't read downhill putts anymore to save my life.
Those par 5's are the key to scoring.
Great course and great setup (as always!) Play well folks.

Still struggling after last week’s disaster- particularly distance control seems gone, especially on putts. But avoided major disasters so far…
Round 1: -8 Round 2: -7

O Canada... wait a minute, this is too familiar looking to be Canada...
So this is now Finland, welcome back... or tervetuloa takaisin in the local dialect! Makes sense that the Canadian event is held here: we're both up north, both like ice hockey way too much (not to mention it's become an international rivalry of recent history with how much they play each other in big games in almost every event) and probably way too many trees around in both places.
I'll be your guide once again since this course also happens to be about 45 minutes away from me by using the fast roads just like that other one earlier this season. Now sure, I've never played around at either course but I can pretend like I know anything about them!
Much like I pretended to know a thing or two in round 1 with a -9 that got the non-existent home crowd pumped up, that then set me up to fail in round 2 with... an even par. So -9 at half. I think I blew my shots in R1 so that I had nothing in the tank in R2... 2 birdies and 2 bogeys, ew. Although could have been worse, the save jobs have been pretty good so far. I just wish it didn't quite go down that road so I would not have to be my usual boring self that hangs around at an okay spot, but meh.
Onnea matkaan!

What a laughable finish for me.
Round 3 E: no igniter anywhere. I was +3 after 10 holes and had to really struggle to come back to even.
Round 4: +1 after 9 holes played, -7 at the back nine for -6 total for the round. Because of course, where was that score before?
-15 at the finish, worst performance in quite a while in terms of finishing position with about 1 and a half rounds of good playing. Bodes well for the major next week I guess...
It was great to have another "home" event, rarity to begin with and now there's been 2 in 1 season. So that's pretty neat, Finland taking over the virtual golf world next?
Kiitos tästä viikosta! Onnea matkaan!

-23 with a dumb triple bogey in the final round. I think that still may be my best TST tournament yet. Must be that Canadian (errr Finnish) home course advantage. If it can’t be Canada then Finland works pretty well too. Seems like we need some more solid Canadian courses in the game though.
