I am beyond livid. I've been playing this game forever. Had legendary fittings on everything. My hard drive was failing so I had to move the game to the new drive. I followed the instructions so that I wouldn't lose my save data. But it's all gone. The game is making me start from the beginning. Am I screwed?

Which instructions did you follow?
Did you move the folder that is talked about in this thread?
Thats the one that has your fittings and stuff in it.

I followed the instructions on how to move so you're supposed to keep all your stuff. Upon further inspection, I do have everything. However, in the move, all my fittings became detached. So I had to tit them all over again. Most were no problem but the irons cost a fortune. I don't have enough virtual currency. I calculated that I'm going to have to play 32 rounds of golf to earn enough to fit all my irons. In addition to that, all my settings are gone for playing on the tour. So I have to set everything up again. My Career also reset to the beginning. I do still have all my skill points and they're still all allocated. But my game is going to suffer big time until I get my irons fitted. No question there is a bug in moving this game.

Well, still not sure exactly which instructions you followed.
1 - What specific steps did you do?
2 - Did your my documents folder also change? Or did you have that on a different hard drive?
3 - Do you use the cloud save thing on steam?
Here would be my specific steps in your case.
install new hard drive, with old hard drive still working. go into steam, and pick move game from inside there, tell steam to move it to the new hard drive. copy the my documents folder in the thread I referenced to a USB drive. take old hard drive out and make sure new hard drive is up and running correctly by itself with windows and steam Run the game once, from steam, let it reset the folders. Copy your my documents folder exactly as it was named, from the USB to wherever it is located now, after you have ran windows, steam, and the game at least once and restarted each time.
Thats how I would do it, and if you didn't do any of those steps, I wouldn't trust it to work right.
You could try using cloud save, but I am not totally sold that it works every time. Honestly, your bug is not really with this game itself, but with steam. Moving any game in steam and keeping all of your exact settings can be tricky.

I followed the instructions that I have used to move every Steam game I own. This is the only one that didn't put my game exactly as I had it. The only thing that really bothers me is the fittings not being attached. Everything else is minor. I mean if the game knew I had all those fittings and kept them, why weren't they kept attached? That's a bug, period.
I'll play the rounds I need to play to get the virtual currency I need to attach them and I'll be done.
On the plus side, the game plays so much better now with the new drive and an extra 8 GIG of RAM. My timing is better. The ball goes straighter. Granted, not perfect, but a vast improvement, which leads me to believe that how well you play this game is also affected by what platform you're using, including how powerful your PC is. I don't particularly feel that's fair, but it is what it is.

I have quite often thought that exact same thing. I think the whole tempo thing is affected by your cpu, graphics card, available memory, and even your internet speed/bandwidth at your house.
I mean, your play is affected by what you see on your screen and how you react to it, in a minute detail. With all those pieces in play, then it transmits back to their server, its got to be affecting it. I know for me, my play got better when I upgraded my machine.
Hope all works out and you get your coins you need quickly!
