Appreciate some help. A friend wants to buy a new PC but carry over his locally saved file. Anyone know which directory this is saved in on Steam?

thank you for this thread!
I have got my new rig built, set up and tonight finally go to the point of installing steam and games. My level transferred, but I had to physically copy this directory to a USB and put it on the new PC to get my stats/career/fittings, etc. But I did that and it copied everything, seems to have worked like a charm!
(will actually test it later, when I get the headphones and controller going)
I did have cloud enabled, but it did not move that stuff.
Oddly, when I picked install for Disney Dreamlight Valley, since I had both steam accounts open at the same time, I was surprised when the old pc started chugging away. I looked at the download page, and instead of downloading the game and installing, it automagically just moved it from one steam account to the other one over the network.
I also figured out with both steam accounts open, there is a drop down that shows both accounts available, and you can run/stream a game on one pc from the other one.
Way more info than I intended, but it excited me, again, thanks for posting this thread!

Not sure if it helps anyone but I’ve got One Drive on Windows 11 and you can seamlessly switch between your PCs with everything staying updated. Very useful

I did a full round last night, and I can confirm, all my settings, fittings, player, all were there, just like they were on the older pc.

All my user data for everything defaults there and I make sure the properties says all my folders are shared with my user profile across devices. Just logged into windows on my new PC and it’s all just there

I recently installed Windows as a dual boot for my Steam Deck so had to turn this off as it was replicating my PC desktop on the handheld.
