Dear TST enthusiasts, Time for Texas! This week's Austin Open is played at the lovely The Rawls @ TTU course. Over the weekend, the wind starts blowing over the Texan plains and therefore I've asked the greenskeeper to water the greens a bit. Doesn't really slow them down that much but you can make your approach shots stick better...  Have fun and good luck, Frans |

Absolutely brilliant course Frans. Had a couple of -2 rounds to start. Struggling with the putter at the moment. The highlight of the week for me was ghosting Mark horusphoenix in the first round. Definitely the best round of TrueSim golf I have ever had the privilege to witness. 14 under I think. I hope you bring that form to the Ryder Cup Mark š. Fantastic golf mate. I encourage anyone playing their first round to walk the links with Mark and see how this game should be played.  |

Round 1: -7
Iāll take that, run, and return later this week, because on my end of the servers the game is currently almost unplayable - random tempo and stuttering. Leaderboards are also not loading. Itās such a shame because I really like this iteration of the game but luck is too much of a factor these days because you never know how the servers will treat you - at least not over here.

UK here and seems to be running well in my neck of the woods fortunately.
Enjoyed the course. +4 thru 2 and thinking the greens were a bit much for me. Even considered not playing this week but had a quiet word with myself and managed to drag it back to -3 after 18, which I was very happy with after an awful start!
Hope everyone's server woes improve and they can enjoy the week.

To mitigate randomness of the servers, Iāve decided to return to my TST game plan of 2k21: ultra-boring golf!
No more going for greens with overpowering the driver, no more leaving myself flop shots when pitch is possible, be nice to my 3w and no more āhit the pin to stop itā nonsense. Fairways and greens, play for pars, avoid three putts at all cost, par 5s are little bird territory not big birds.
Round 2: -8 - bogey-free
Round 3: -8 - bogey-free
Round 4: -9 - bogey-free
Total: -32
Itās boring and tiring but itās solidā¦
ā¦ already miss the feeling of that shot you pull off that you had no business going for thoughā¦ ššš
Anyway: Iāll try to stick to this game plan for as long as I can.

Just finished my required two rounds before the deadline. Round One was a bit of a nightmare as I struggled to find birdie. And when I did find a birdie, a bogey was waiting for me on the next hole. Thankfully I birdied 18 to put me at one under par for the round. Round Two was the opposite. I made lot's of birdies. I hate par threes. Did I mention that I hate par threes? Well I do. I made two bogeys on two par threes. Finished the round at 8 under par. Sitting at 9 under par for the tournament at the halfway point. meyo got some work to do! Really happy to see lessangster bang out his second week in a row. Make it three in a row next week Les. No Less... No More! |
