Cormac's Bluff is my entry to the season 9 CC Contest. This course is inspired by the beautiful modern links / oceanside courses in Tasmania, specifically Barnbougle Dunes, Barnbougle Lost Farm, Cape Wickham, and King Island Ocean Dunes.
This is a relatively short course at 7,032 yards from the blue tees (par 71). Tasmania's latitude puts it right in the middle of the roaring forties trade winds, so crank the wind right up for an authentic experience.
The course plays hard and fast from tee to green, greens are set at 165 and can also be turned up to very fast if you like.
The 3 required elements I have chosen are:
1. Four green sites within 200 yards of each other: holes 3, 4, 9 and 17. Best view of them all together is off the back of the 9th. 2. One par 3 shorter than 125 yards: hole 15 3. The Q (see below)
There are three tee boxes on this course: the blue tees are the primary back tees. If the course is going to be judged at its best it should be judged from the blue tees. White tees are a traditional forward tee set about 300 yards shorter than the blues, which can be used for a tournament round. And the green tees are an alternative manipulated tournament set at 6,990 yards with some different angles and a little variation of hole lengths.
This course was created with some very low lighting and the default time of day is very close to dawn. I understand that's not everyone's cup of tea, I've made sure the course looks and plays ok at all other times of day. But the default setting is how the course should be judged please. Dusk lighting is still low but from the opposite direction and looks pretty cool, use pinset 2 for dusk lighting if you want to keep the shadows away from the pins. Higher lighting also works.

Thanks mate, love your playthroughs and love your kind words. When you were down in Tassie how many rounds did you play in in 2 mph winds? You caught this course on a very benign morning and you absolutely annihilated the course - nice shooting! Some potential on that front which I hope to be able to update at some stage.

We played both Dunes and Lost Farm very early morning so we had 2mph winds for both front 9’s. By the turn they picked up to around 20kph.
As for Bougle run, we played that late in the afternoon in 30+ kph winds. Made for some interesting club selections!
My swing is getting better, might be time to go back to Master swing. 😀

This one was super interesting, some fun green sites, solid green slopes, and some good subtle strategy sprinkled in there in a cool setting. Wouldn't be surprised if this does well and I'm excited to see what you do for WC!

Gorgeous track here dude. Nailed the Tasmanian vibes big time. Thought the sculpting was top notch too. Particularly loved the stretch of holes through the middle of the round. Ripper job. All the best in the competition.

agrainger12 - thanks! Haven't managed to play yours yet but it's on the list for this week. Regarding WC - I'm on the alt list so I'm just going to try to have some fun with it. Have played around with a couple ideas but nothing has galvanised yet. Australian - thanks mate, really appreciate it. Have you got anything on the boil currently?

Big fan of the environment created here Fargo. Have it added as a weekend event in Rub Of The Green this coming weekend if you're intrigued to see how it plays.

Finally got to play this last night. Really strong entry here, Fargo. I enjoyed following your WIP. Loved the planting. Lots of original stuff here.
I think the routing was really interesting. Would love me a routing pic!

Would love me a routing pic! Thanks mate. Looking forward to playing yours over the next day or two, the red bushes look awesome. Routing pic - there's one at the end of the wip thread but that's a bit of a crappy angle which was the best I could do on playstation. If anyone on PC would be able to get a true overhead shot of the plot I'll be happy to draw some lines on it.
