Ooops just realized due to my irl golf plans I won’t be able to finish Rd2 before the deadline…oh well I’ll just go out and shoot well above what I would in TST anyway. Or hell maybe I’ll get somewhere close to it haha. Big maybe. Isn't the deadline 10pm Wednesday EST? Just want to confirm because I can't play my rounds until tomorrow. And I wish I had IRL golf plans. My course is under a foot of snow 😭☃️ |

1st and 2nd round scores must be completed prior to 4am UTC on Thursday of the tournament week.

Finished -19
Pretty proud of that because I had quite a few stutters where my back swing isn’t a back swing but a sudden jump to the top of the swing. Startles me every time and almost always results in dreadful tempo. Anyone have any ideas how to prevent this from happening? Is it the HB servers or something local? I’m playing PS5 and this is the only game I play. Play wired.

I had one round in week 2 where the tempo felt like swinging through mud, but I didn't really have a quick jump from the backswing to the downswing. Just a 'slow' feeling to the frame rate, which really messed with my tempo. Like asyoudo64 said, I am constantly quitting out of the game (including quick resume, if PS5 has that) and then restarting my console. I might play back to back practice rounds, because it's just practice, but if it's a society round, I am fully quitting out after each round. This actually happened to Ryan Gamer in a stream and he tried to play through it. It went horribly. He quit out and restarted after the round and everything was smooth on restart. |

Just had a couple of bad bookends. Middle golf not too bad. I love playing this format, but I also hate it sometimes 🤣.
It is such a breath of fresh air from the normal CC Rounds.

The Nicklaus Flight Survival Documentaries: Episode 1, part 1
So I made it to the top flight after last week. Why did I not think that it would also mean that my first week in there would be on a course created by an evil genius that I struggle on even with all the bells and whistles turned on, let alone them off?
+1 first round with absolutely nothing of note... except a double bogey on 17. Couldn't score no matter what, tempo not there at all. And because of that, the distances to pin were also a little bit too much, and of course the pin spots were also brutal enough to immediately make one say "forget about it" if you're off right from the tee.
Round 2 definitely was better at the front 9 with -4. And then the back 9 happened, +1. -2 and I think I'm a bottom feeder at Nicklaus at the half.
Who do I try to bribe off here in the Arab lands to give me a better score so I could possibly survive longer than 3 weeks, before getting back to the flight I definitely belong to more?

Faded down the stretch on round 4. No blowup holes per se, just missed saves. Still pleased with the improvement over the past rounds. Big thanks for the putting tip from Paul hammers1man that made a big difference.   Will miss next we on hols. Enjoy all and see you on the other side of Christmas! Onward! |

This week's tournament started badly - a lot of just-missed putts, a few very-badly missed putts and three to escape a green side bunker on the 6th meant after 8 holes I was 8 over and trying to persuade my caddy to steal a golf cart to take us back to the clubhouse to drink ourselves into oblivion...
Thankfully he resisted, and 4 birdies in the last 10 holes restored a modicum of respectability.
Unfortunately it didn't stop me drinking myself into oblivion, so no idea how R2 will go later (assuming I can make it to the first tee....)

I've had it happen to me maybe once or twice a tourney on PS4 but it rarely affects me because I do a practice swing for many of my shots. And what's interesting is, it only happens on the practice swing when I use them. It never happens on the real swing after a practice swing. The few times I've been subject to that sudden jump on a real swing, I've made sure to follow through like nothing's happening and I usually get a gray or perfect result. I'm not sure about PS5, but if it's startling you, it's probably taking you out of your swing if you're getting really poor tempo - cause you're normally great. If you feel the game is starting to act up and you might get one soon, do a practice swing before each real swing - that slows the round down considerably so the other option is as you're feeling that sudden jump just try to keep to how you normally swing. Hopefully they just fix it. Psychologically, I pretend someone in the audience was talking as I was swinging - that stuff happens real life - this video game glitch is like a real life annoyance on a golf course - we can pretend a fly went in our eye as we swung. lol |

Still quite enjoyable tho! Nice! I have a golf buddy here that just bought a house down at Westbrook Village in Peoria. I am hopefully going down there in February for a week of hacking up the desert courses! As for my True Sim rounds...let's just pretend this week didn't happen. I did have to rush through my rounds today, so I didn't get a chance to warm up. But ultimately it was the 784 bunkers I hit and the horrendous putting that did me in. I am not joking. Pretty sure I hit every single bunker on the course over my three rounds today. I think I set some kind of record. Oh well, just getting through this week to make the Hogan flight next week! I can really only focus when it is competitive, so I look forward to actually improving once I am in the flight. I promise I will get better in TS! In positive news, my True Sim warm up rounds got me stroking it well enough to make my cut in CC this week 💪 |
