Dear TST enthusiasts,
Wanted to present you with a Middle-East style/look/feel tournament this week and, unfortunately, none of the RCRs available so far was good enough. Luckily, Al Barsha - Seas is available and, while a non-RCR, it feels real, plays fair but challenging and greens are TST-doable. I hope you agree with this choice and that you'll enjoy this week's tournament. We'll return to RCRs as of next week!
Have fun and good luck, Frans

I played my first two rounds, and they went better than last week, sort of. I was chasing Art Vandelay on the boards as he was 4 under to my 2 over. I caught some breaks on the last 4 holes on the first round and finished Even Par like Art. Second Round got out of hand. I made 3 or 4 three putts that seemed ridiculous. I feel like, at the very least, I should have finished round two at even par. Unfortunately, I rushed through and suck at the game and finished round 2 at 4 over par. I may just power through round 3 and 4 since the conditions on round 3 are easier compared to round 2.

Arabian Dreams? Sandy Nightmares more like. Six over after the first round, and that included a eagle. Absolute shucking fambles on the greens and I will say no more, for fear of desecrating that back catalogue of another musical icon.
Good to see Art out-performing me and I will be back another day to finish off this horror show.

Probably a good week for me to take off since this was the CC course last week and I skipped it then too. I probably couldn't play 8 straight rounds at the same course anyway. See you guys next week at an RCR. I'll go listen to Stevie Wonder and I'll toss in some Ray Charles too. lol Again sorry for the disruption last week - we have a friendly community and I probably shouldn't have gotten all hot and bothered on the thread like that.

Yeah, Erik is correct. Same designer and 'location' at a resort, but a different course. I wasn't a fan of the Sand course...hopefully I like this one better!

After the many, many missed putts from Round One, there was some relief in the second effort. More putts dropped and I took the advice of trying to hit the approaches really close as that makes putting easier. A lot of the damage was repaired and only a couple of shots needing to be picked up to put me back under par for the week. Fingers crossed but I am not normally superstitious.

Officially qualified to the Hogan Flight after last week, then promptly went out and shot a +5 77 first round…seems about right haha. Excited to be a part of the TST in earnest now!

After all these games and i dread to think how many rds, do u know what? I still cannot ruddy putt, jeesh. -3,-3 = -6 after 36H's Under par, i always take that, and tbh my hearts still not in it to actually really try, let alone play, its like im forcing myself too, but hey ho, enough of misery guts here, play well all.

Struggled with the lighting in the first round and scrambled around for a +5. Thought I had got back to even par in the second round, only to finish bogey, bogey, double bogey. Still shot 1 under, to be 4 over after 3 rounds. Can I get back to red numbers 🤔, probably not 🤣.

Ooops just realized due to my irl golf plans I won’t be able to finish Rd2 before the deadline…oh well I’ll just go out and shoot well above what I would in TST anyway. Or hell maybe I’ll get somewhere close to it haha. Big maybe.

Round 2 and another good start spoilt by a sloppy finish (kinda sounds like my dating days, thank goodness for Mrs. V to save me from THAT).

Round 3 and I borked it up front this time, big triple Humph on 7. Nearly rallied, just need a consistent last round to get a mention?

Shove up a bit and make room on the Not Quite Getting It Done Bench this week Art Vandelay. It was going alright, for me until that mishap, normally reserved for hushed conversations in dark corners of locker rooms, the four-stab from six feet. All the more frustrating as I had managed to control a splash shot from a cavernous bunker and stop it close enough to normally assure a bogey at worse. The seventh green and a dodgy putting stroke had other ideas. I compounded this by leaving a splash at the next at my feet so managing to crawl my way back to one-under and just need a couple on the last round to get back under par for the week, although I fear the writing is on the wall.
