I tested the game out after patch 1.007 last night, still cannot do the live ghosts thing, so that was not one of their "fixes". But hey, we got another playable character that I'm sure 99% of us don't care about! Way to go 2K

I'm pretty new to modern gaming, just curious - is this type of customer support more the norm with these developers, or is what we're seeing here an aberraton? HB seem incredibly insular compared to other developers whose games I've played. Both in terms of support responses and general interaction with the community. I had an issue a while ago with Assetto Corsa and the support team were really engaged throughout and ended up sorting it. Goes a long way for me that. Whereas I've only ever had a generic copy paste from HB.

Just reading through the responses you guys have gotten here and based on the state of this game at launch / roadmap with features that should've been available on release I think it's fair to say HB are working on a skeleton crew right now. Just from the outside looking in this series is doomed to stagnate now and will have a half-finished re-release shoved out every two years. Shame because I was really looking forward to seeing the series step forward with the first next-gen enhanced golf game.

Don't know why but they seem to have a mentality of if something is really popular with the community lets get rid of it. I would make a list but i have to go out in an hour so don't have time. Just mind boggling really.

Rajdeep D., Dec 15, 2022, 08:26 PST:
Hey Rever,
I hope you are doing well!
As stated that I know you guys were allowed to play societies and there were live ghost in societies, but that was working as un-intentional, it was not intended that player should be able to play there in the societies.
I understand that many fellow gamers liked playing in societies with their friends but after the recent update it has been removed, I know how upsetting this must be for you.
Since we at customer support we can only gather information from fellow gamers like you and escalate the concern to the appropriate team, there's nothing much we can do in this case. That is the reason we requested you to reach out to the official PGA TOUR 2K Community Discord as you can share your insights and have meaningful conversations with others in the community about everything PGA TOUR 2K.
Please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience this has caused you.
Should you have any other concerns or questions please do let me know.
Thank you,
Rajdeep D.

Why is there a live ghost option then? I hate it when rules are made up as you go along.
Reverhart, Dec 14, 2022, 17:02 PST:
We even played 22 this way. I guess we have to move to EA
Rajdeep D., Dec 14, 2022, 15:54 PST:
Hey Rever,
I have an update for you!
The dedicated team has notified me to inform you that you're not supposed to be able to play with your friends in societies. There's no multiplayer functionality for societies.
So this is working as intended. I understand you guys were been allowed to play game earlier. however that was un-intentional that is the reason after the recent update it have been removed.
As we can't pass on feedback through customer support, the official PGA TOUR 2K Community Discord has been created as a place to share your insights and have meaningful conversations with others in the community about everything PGA TOUR 2K.

Please try to understand that I really want to help you and escalate the concern to the appropriate team. As you know we at customer support we do not have much tool or abilities to alter things, we only gather information from gamers like you and escalate the concern to the appropriate team.

You need a video of the mistakes in the game you created. It's not just me no one can play live ghosts in societies anymore. At least if you play on a PC. Simple way to see the problem even though I shouldn't have to do your job for you. Just get a partner and try to play live ghost on a PC in societies It's just that simple. Go to societies and try to go to the tee and once you leave the societies lobby there is no returning to that lobby until round is over. Although when you first enter the lobby, you have an option to add live ghost it does not show you live ghosts that are in the lobby. Does anyone there actually play the game on PC, does anyone there actually play the game.

Hey Rever,
I hope you are doing well!
I'm sorry to hear that you are unable to play multi player in societies and play tournaments with your friends. I understand how dishearten this must be for you.
However, could you please provide me with a video of the issue you are facing while trying to play with your friends so that we can look into it and escalate the concern to the appropriate team.
Please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience this has caused you.
Thank you,

As of your comment. It hurts when you put your hard-earned money into something that doesn't work properly.
Reverhart, Dec 13, 2022, 09:58 PST:
Still can't play multi player in societies, and that's why I purchased the game we play as a squad in tournaments. Now we cannot play tournaments together. Can't be that hard of a fix it worked up until two weeks ago. Can't understand why you would stop it in the first place.
Rajdeep D., Dec 6, 2022, 15:40 PST:
Hey Reverhart,
Thanks for reaching out to 2K Support!
I'm Rajdeep, and I'll be assisting you further regarding the issue you are facing and I Understand that you are providing us with your valuable feedback regarding there is not way to add live ghost from the pause menu while on the tee.
Being a fellow gamer, I can totally imagine your situation right now. When we put our efforts into something and don't get the desired results, it hurts! of course.
I really appreciate your effort in providing me with your valuable feedback. I understand how upsetting that must be for you. In 2K21 you were allowed to got on the tee and added each other as live ghosts to play multi player in societies but in 2K23 you had to go to the Tee quit and go back to the lobby and unable to add live ghost from the pause menu while on the tee .

If you happen to have any questions, feedback, or suggestions that you wanna see to be implemented in "PGA TOUR 2K23". I would love to document those feedback so that it can be reviewed by our concern team.
We're solely depending on our community's feedback, reports, and suggestions to improve and provide a better and enhanced gaming experience to our users.
We're nothing without your input.
So, please feel free if you have any suggestions to share.

2K21 we just all got on the tee and added each other as live ghosts to play multi player in societies. Then 2K23 we had to go to the Tee quit and go back to the lobby and add live ghost which was a pain in the ass, but we could play with each other. Now once you enter the tee there is no going back to the lobby and no way to add live ghost from the pause menu while on the tee. Totally screwed this one up for us, thanks. Rob Everhart

This has been unintentionally in the game for years now. So what video are we supposed to send? From 2k21? If it wasn't supposed to be there then why the lobby? Why the option to add a player? Why even allow a foursome to play together online at all? It's bad enough in this regard that your friends list is not in a online, then offline alphabetical order any more on Xbox.
This is where we need some NextMaker or TGCT Admin support to get information fast tracked to where it needs to be. Remember how fast the fittings were fixed? Locking out magic balls came pretty quick as well by HB/2K time. Might carry more weight than us peasants.

Yeah that support line is nothing more than some outsourced information dump. They have absolutely no idea about the game and are just admin staff being paid peanuts to take the flak.
As Rhino says I think you'd need get in touch with a nextmaker or you'd even have more visibility on Twitter I'd imagine if a few people tagged the game or devs. I think someone screenshotted the community manager's twitter account in a thread on here recently.

Problem is how many of these 'NextMakers' previously played societies with other people, I would take a guess at very, very few, if any at all
Therefore, it's not important to them at all this issue so why would they care?
As long as they can play their many society rounds, play as some new random esports bloke, the game is working as intended for them.
I feel that people from TGCTours would have some better clout with people at 2K/HB than NextMakers, as 2K can choose / drop who they want to as NextMakers / unpaid positive spin PR people, but even then most will probably fall on deaf ears as long as 2K get their money

They were the ones to point out the original TGCT ball stats issue before the rest of us got the game and logged complaints.
They noticed that Society play did not prevent the special ball use in Societies days before the game launched and made videos with their concern.
I don't get your tangent as some of the NextMakers are TGCTours members and made their concerns known.

I don't think Taffs disputing that at all. Just that they are more inclined to play their society rounds solo and this aren't likely to notice the current issue he and others are having.

I have likely mis-interpreted his comments. I was looking more at the past when this game launched and not to the more current theme in this thread about playing Society rounds with another player.
For that I apologize.
It's a niche scenario to be sure, but one that should be addressed.

Personally I would go much further and say that leaving the feedback in the hands of content creators and not experienced testers is indicative of 2k scaling back any sort of investment into the franchise. And that's no slight on those guys at all. Simply an observation that the priorities for content creation and a balanced competitive game aren't necessarily always aligned. And nor should it fall on them to take feedback on board and pass it on to devs, especially in an unpaid capacity. In my opinion of course.
The game just feels totally rudderless right now to me.

Not at all mate. Tbf I've since probably said the things that it might have seemed Taff was suggesting haha I think he quite likes the game and is just a little irked that he can't play societies in a group. Whereas, yeah, honestly I think it's still fun but a borderline embarrassing product.
