Just wanted to throw this little nugget out there......
Rajdeep D., Dec 14, 2022, 15:51 PST:
Hey there,
I have an update for you!
The dedicated team has notified me to inform you that you're not supposed to be able to play with your friends in societies. There's no multiplayer functionality for societies. So this is working as intended. I understand you guys were been allowed to play game earlier. however that was un-intentional that is the reason after the recent update it have been removed.
Please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience this has caused you.
Thank you,
Rajdeep D. 2K Support
WTF! How can you have it working when the game releases, then patch it and say we were never meant to play with friends in Societies!!!!! Not sure how much TGCT has the ear of these clowns but someone else higher up than me or us lowly players needs to box some ears and get this changed back. Society rounds with friends is about the only thing that makes this game playable. Golf is a social game!!!! FFS!

100% agreed! I have a private society that myself, my dad, and a few friends play in, this patch has basically killed that society (I've stopped scheduling events).
The real question is, do they even understand what we are talking about?

I would have to say that up mup kupen nup is on to something here, with the near introduction of crossplay. Customer support don't have a clue about past/present/future for the game because the replies are all scripted. I sent in one support request early on release and the reply had nothing to do with my initial question. Apparently the operator was a big fan of the game as well. Clearly he wasn't as he didn't understand a scooby about what I was on about. Anyhow, hopefully it gets sorted one way or the other, but have to remember it is 2K, one step forward, two steps back!

Society rounds with friends is about the only thing that makes this game playable. Golf is a social game!!!! FFS! This makes no sense. There was literally a function called "live ghost" that allows you to play with other people that are already playing the course. What other scenario would this functionality exist for beyond when playing in societies? I guess you could use it in casual local play, but if that was the case, you'd just create a match with that person or play a non-live ghost. Has anyone looked to see if live ghost was removed from local as well as society?

My latest reply, with a hint that they were able to reproduce the issue. Maybe a hint at fixing it? Who knows anymore, just wanted to share...
Kriti T., Dec 15, 2022, 23:03 PST: Hi Kory,
Hope you are having a great day!!
I would like to inform you that after you provided those revised procedures I was also able to recreate the issue here in the office. Thank you very much for explaining that further for me. Because of the work of diligent players like you, we've been able to collect enough information about this issue to notify the development team, and they are currently working toward a solution. Unfortunately, we do not have visibility on their progress here in customer support, and so we don't have a timeline for a fix to be implemented. That said, please follow us on Twitter (@2k, @2ksupport), as this is where new info as well as upcoming patches will be announced.
We're extremely sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused. Thank you for your continued patience and loyalty.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know! It will be our pleasure to assist you further!!
Have a good day to you and your beloved ones!!
Kind regards,
Kriti T. 2K Support

Here's my dealings with them
LIVE GHOSTS SOCIETY PLAY
Taffman666 4 days ago Why have you completely removed the option to play with a live ghost from the latest patch v1. 06?
Myself and several other streamers enjoy playing our society rounds together at the same time, as many, many 2k23 players playing together is what we enjoy most in this game. I have no inclination to play career mode or single player at all as golf is a social sport playing with people you know, both in competitive and casual play, if you're playing as a team or as a pair, you have now completely removed the option for us to play in our own society together.
Like many players wanting to play with my playing partner having to faff around and go into game to the 1st tee, then back out and then we can add our friends to play our society rounds was a joke, but we could do it... Why on earth was this changed from 2k21 I have no idea as it worked great, I could directly invite my society friends and we could play our rounds synced up, but not anymore in 2k23.. Anyways, but at least could play together.. Took an extra 10 minutes to set up, but it could be done, butnow as soon as we start a round, that's it, you can't go back to the lobby you straight into the round.
Golf is played both as a single player and as a group, but you have now removed that option completely. You look at TGCTours, they have over 2000 weekly players and hundreds of them play their society rounds with others... But now we can't because you have removed that option completely.
Please put this ability back into online societies, as you are starting to drive the community away, especially as we have EA Golf less than 6 months away.
While on societies... Why wasn't Stableford Societies an option? It was in TGC 2019, but the past 2 games haven't had this, why?
Megha S. 4 days ago Hey there,
Greetings! Thanks for reaching out to 2K Support, and for your feedback!
My name is Megha and I'll assist you today regarding your concern. First of all, I am glad to hear that you have a great interest in the game and also happy to about your love regarding the game.
We know running into problems while playing can be frustrating and really impact your enjoyment. But I would like to inform you that as we can't pass on feedback through customer support, the official PGA TOUR 2K Community Discord has been created as a place to share your insights and have meaningful conversations with others in the community about everything PGA TOUR 2K.
I really appreciate you explaining how it would help in improving the game. While that feature isn’t currently in our development roadmap, we are working on big improvements that will be helpful for the majority of our customers, and you’ll see those rolling out soon.
I’m sure you understand that we receive many great ideas from our customers, and we’re grateful for all of them. We couldn't be prouder to call you our partner and a part of our community. Your loyalty and feedback have powered meaningful discussions within our organization, as well as countless improvements to PGA TOUR 2K23. For that, we are so grateful.
Thank you for continuing to choose us. We promise to continue to prioritize you. Of course, if you happen to run into anything else or have any technical issues we can assist with, please let us know!
If you have any other questions or concerns in the meantime, then please let me know!
Best Regards,
Megha S. 2K Support
Taffman666 Evening,
So from what you have said, going back and having the ability to play together live in societies is not going to happen again?
There are constant stealth updates to the game, for example they have fixed the society leaderboard glitch sometime this week, but without mentioning it to the general public. Surely another stealth patch can be implemented and this put back in, its only quick switch back the code that stops this happening. The code is already there from 2k21, so why can't that be put in?
Similar to when Crossplay gets 'turned' on in February, its already there, via room codes in online private matches, but it just needs to be switched on via 2K.
If only the PGA discord actually gave you the ability to make recommendations / complaints about changes made, as it currently doesn't.
All we ask is the ability to play with our friends, in as many ways as possible.
Thanks
Paul
Megha S. 3 days ago Hello there,
Thank you for writing back to us! I hope you are doing well!
To begin with, I would like to inform you that the devs are looking into your suggestions and concerns so as soon as there are any new fixes, the devs keep rolling out patches for the game, however, we do not have any fixed timeline for when the next patch update will be or what issues will be addressed in it because we don't have any insight into those processes here in Customer Support, and we do not have any visibility on the progress of the development team.
Furthermore, please know that the development team is always eager to receive suggestions from our customers. Your suggestions will help us improve the game greatly. I really want to thank you for sharing your thoughts and for your contribution to the game.
Lastly, I would like to thank players like you who helped to shape the game into what it has become. Your loyalty and feedback have powered meaningful discussions within our organization, as well as countless improvements to PGA TOUR 2K23. For that, we are so grateful.
In the meantime, if you have any questions for me, please feel free to give me a shout!
Kind Regards,
Megha S. 2K Support

New patch today...hotfix for possible crashes during 4-player online matches.
Just a heads up...I know that these patches basically require you to re-download the whole game each time, but I have had the game on my PS4 just fine. However, this hot fix is saying I need to free up 7.25 GB to download it? That's never been an issue for me before when getting these patch updates, so I don't know why this one is needing that much more space.

It was only about 0.5GB for me on Xbox Series X. So it was different to the previous patches where I have had to effectively re-download the whole game. That's strange...when I went to do the update on PS4, there was an error and it said it couldn't complete the download. I checked the error, and it said I needed to free up 7.25 GB of space to have enough room for the update. It's updating right now - the file is 7.114 GB:

Saw someone released a screenshot of the patch notes, and I swear it says
* Addressed MyPlayers related issues * Added Online Multi-player bugs (seriously not a typo) * Added matchmaking improvements * Multiple improvements to stability and performance * Other minor tweaks
Trust me they didn't need to add multi-player bugs we have plenty! Haha.

Downloaded-installed-loaded game up-still have all fittings, skills and customizations-Survived another Friday HB patch. Haven't played a round as no time today. As long as I never got wiped I can be happy. Not a MP player so don't care about the patch unless it messes with my gameplay/swing which I have in a so called sweet spot right now.
Not a fan of Friday patches though, no one in their office on the weekend to address any issue that can pop up.

There is no way playing together in a society was not intended. Isn't that what a society is? Why have any kind of multiplayer game modes then?? These guys have everything at their disposal to put out a fantastic product and the continue to half-ass things and go backwards.

But other gamers will.
