Just hoping we, the USA can pinch a tie this Friday. And then beat Iran which should give us a chance to move into the round of 16, I hope on points and not GD. The soccer-Roos gave me hope today for the underdog but France is just good and of the teams I have seen this far, are the team to beat. It's a tough group. It's the only one where all 4 teams are in the Fifa top 20. Iran were a bit overpowered by England in the first half but gave a pretty good account of themselves in the second. I expect the USA game to be a tricky one. They are normally very fit and athletic and well organised. They were a bit unlucky not to beat Wales. Pulisic is a very good player. Would not be at all surprised if that one went down to the wire. And then we've got Wales which is like a local Derby, anything can happen! Plus you never know which England is going to turn up. Looking forward to Friday. Nice start from England but a lot of work still to do to get out of the group. And it's a draw Jason, not a tie  |

As it stands this will be the last world cup there will be a Draw/Tie in the group stages.
From 2026 with it going to 48 teams 16 groups of three if the game is a draw in the group stages it will go down to penalties
That's the 3rd 0-0 so far,there was only 1 0-0 in 2018.

Fifa is still considering 12 groups of 4 for that one, and the penalty shootout option in group stages is only a suggestion (from Marco Van Basten). Can't see it myself. |

Japan were fabulous today never gave up.. Saudi's played great but would get stuffed by a team with a quick counter attack ie spain or france. Mbappe would break the scoring record if they played that high a line against him.

I know they are Tricky to referee Portugal with all there gamesmanship and antics but that ref of that game was awful.

I actually backed the USA to win the group and I'm English, thought there was good value in it, hope they go through along with England, if you can listen to it talksport is worth listening to throughout the day from the UK and is mainly about football or soccer, Simon Jordan is very good to listen to....though not to everyones taste...there's clips of him on youtube....im sure also there's a talksport app somewere.

Well I am happy and disappointed at the same time with the US result vs England. This draw make the Wales draw sting a little more.
Feel like we showed well throughout the match and had some great scoring chances but we just couldn’t put a bulge in the ole onion bag. England had a few as well that I was surprised that Kane didn’t put on frame. And I love Kane, but I am a Hotspurs fan so there is that.
Now it is win and move on. Let’s get it done! Go USA!
