Hendersons first instinct is to pass sideways or back, Rice is playing as an extra defender and rarely progresses the ball. Southgate is the problem, he has Maddison and Grealish Sitting there, both are creative. Wilson too, Kane is too slow up front and better playing behind a striker in my opinion.
I expected us to lose even though we have the talent to win it, but not with bloody Southgate in charge.
Hopefully he'll now leave, if not he should be sacked but who knows what that lot at the FA will do.
I would have played Rashford ahead of Saka but its just a matter of taste. Bringing on Mount I couldn't understand at all but fully expected it of Southgate. Giving Grealish 2 minutes at the end, again thats just typical of Southgate and completely pointless. I personally think Foden and Bellingham are over-hyped. Good players no doubt, but not great. Bellingham had no impact at all in the game. Take either one off, or preferably Henderson, and put on Maddison. Why was Maddison included in the squad and not used at all? To keep Southgate's critics quiet?
They are NOT getting Eddie Howe! I don't believe he would even seriously consider the job, its a step down from Newcastle.
