Okay my thank you's to Doyley are adding up. So now they are a list!
1. Thank you for going ahead with this season despite the possibility that you wouldn't be able to lock out the golf balls.
2. Thank you for making sure helping 2K/HB correct their swing problems that the preliminary version of the game had before it was released. Those last minute fixes have made the game playable, realistic and fun and I credit you and the others here who provided the perfect feedback.
3. Thank you for fighting for a way to lock out the consumable golf balls. You listened to us and you took action.
4. Nobody thought 2K would give the option to lock these out cause of money, so I don't know how the heck you convinced them but I think like 90% of us welcome a level playing field where we don't get desperate and wind up spending real money on golf balls that disappear after a round. Thank you.

I still think Doyley deserves an official role and more pay as an advisor/ambassador for 2K. He should be in the know at all times and should be making the final decisions for 2K.

The default ball is actually not all that bad.. I used it for a TGC tours test event and it seemed like it was impossible to keep the ball on certain greens. Maybe it was something I was doing wrong, or maybe that was just a ridiculous set up but to me it felt like the default ball had a lot more roll than 2k21. After that experience is when I went to upgraded balls. |

The designers and now TGC/schedulers will have full control of the courses and conditions we play on - they all know the default ball and they will properly compensate-the designers have already said this. Even so, if there are occasions they want to challenge us, we're now all in the same boat anyway. So if it rolls off the green for one player, it will do the same for all. As long as this works technically, it's gonna be a great season at TGC!

So are the default ball and no chipping out of bunkers only a TGC tours restriction or is it available to all societies?

Does it automatically equip the default ball in society if you have a consumable one equipped or do you have to change it manually?
I like it from a level playing field aspect, but I will maintain my view that it's not very realistic having the entire field forced into using exactly the same ball. Unfortunately since they (2k/HB) seem uninterested in the realistic option of all balls rolling the same and bouncing more or less the same as well, it's the only solution at this point.

The consumable golf ball restriction is available to all societies. I have also seen on videos that it can be set at the society-wide level, or can be event specific. For example, you could set a society to allow consumable golf balls, but set an event within that society to restrict their usage just for that tourney. |

Doyley did EVERYTHING Tiger was supposed to do - Doyley probably told them about chipping out of a bunker being ridiculous too! At least they listen to him cause the game looked like pretty crappy during the previews conducted by TGC. I don't even think Tiger saw the game cause he would say - why does every right handed player have a broken wrist when the ball is below the players feet? LOL Unfortunately, Tiger was just a name for this game and provided no input - to not put Payne's Valley in the game when we've all seen it on TV with Tiger and Charlie playing together - that's nuts. So again, TGC has to have a member make the course - just played it for TrueSim and it was stellar. They hire a golf genius for millions and then don't use his knowledge!!! |

I also love that they've apparently restricted chipping from bunkers. Good luck all those chippers out there who haven't bothered to learn the splash and cheese the chip 🤣 Kinda torn on this. I'm not an IRL golfer so hear me out. In this game, they got rid of the splash shot when on the fairway/rough etc. Everyone loved this because it wasn't an IRL golf shot and a splash shot was meant for the bunker. Chips out of the bunker ARE an IRL shot, based on what I've heard/read. Why not just make the difficulty level higher rather than remove the option entirely? Splash out of rough IS a real life shot but was poorly implemented in 2K21, it was so easy it was like dart golf and very unrealistic spin mechanics from heavy rough. Chipping from bunkers was just stupid in this game. Hitting a lob wedge with ease from soft sand and a high lip is insanely difficult irl. Unless they can be implementing properly they did the right thing and got rid of. |

Yeah, honestly, just being able to use the common sleeve choices would have maybe worked, as the stats don't change THAT much off of the default, and I don't think those would really skew the score discrepancies and would add a touch of extra strategizing. But I don't even know if that is possible, but it would feel a little more realistic while having very little effect on the scoring. Who knows though. That would still create controversy 😂 |

I've never used a consumable ball so no change for me. It is fun to watch people lose their minds about it!! Maybe adjust green speeds a bit so that they aren't like table tops at times. Never used them and never will. I agree set the green speeds that play well with default balls. |

Ever since I did the update, every shot I hit is black fast and goes nowhere. anyone else having this issue?
I just qualified for CC-A prior to the update so I know the problem isn't myself lol
