The problem is no matter what you do to the elite you’ll always get the odd random black fast or slow, it’s effectively like playing on Xbox because of the polling points, the trade off is you don’t get that with eSwap etc but the sticks don’t feel as nice and harder to swing straight. For me it’s worth it as better tempo is more important to me than swing path, I find a tempo miss is 50 yards off target whilst a swing path miss is 10 yards. You could also look at the Razr (or might be Razer) controllers, they’re supposed to be good too but no idea on their polling rates but seeing as it’s a PS / PC configuration I’d expect it to be better than Xbox controllers I think some of the problems with the Xbox wireless controller is with the odd miscommunication between the controller and the Xbox. If I get a black fast which I do every now and again I will turn the controller of then back on again usually sorts it for a good few rounds. I used to use it with a wired USB C but still had the same problems, only really noticed how bad it was when I’d tried re eSwap and the DualSense, I just couldn’t go back now, it costs me 3 shots a round using the Elite 2

On PS when you plug the wire in you can go in and disable the Bluetooth.

I am considering a PS5 controller purely because I am desperate for anything to help me. I currently use an Xbox One controller which I am very comfortable with. I made the switch (on PC) and at first the DualSense was awkward, but within a few hours it felt fine to me. My swing has definitely improved.

I sent my eSwap back as the rubber tops on the sticks felt so hard and slippy ooh err 😂 I do love the feel of the Elite the sticks are so smooth in use but tempo is also very variable. I set the tension in the middle because on the lightest tension I get to many black fasts, set to heavy I get black slows. I’ve got to a point now where if I hammer the stick forwards I get a fair few perfects with the driver but it’s the irons I have the most trouble with lots of grey slows almost into the black and they take lots of distance off your shot. The problem is no matter what you do to the elite you’ll always get the odd random black fast or slow, it’s effectively like playing on Xbox because of the polling points, the trade off is you don’t get that with eSwap etc but the sticks don’t feel as nice and harder to swing straight. Excellent quality, but historically, hit too straight.

Is it best to use the PS5 controller on PC plugged in? I do that with my Xbox One controller but I just wanted to make sure just in case I make a purchase.

As long as you overclock it, plugged in has a slightly faster polling rate and slightly less lag/noise that Bluetooth. Minimal difference though, so do what works best for you. Out of the box, Bluetooth is faster, but I still played better with my PS5 than I did Xbox.

After testing many official PS and XB controllers, a brand new Dual Shock 4 wins hands down for consistent tempo. As good as the Dual Sense 5 is I just can't get consistent tempo with it. It's the right stick, just feels a bit off to me.

paddyjk19, I am using the eSwap X Pro. Are you or do you have the eSWap S Pro? My advice is anyone with tempo issues try the Thrustmaster eSwap X PRO or Dualsense. Not sure, got the latest version whatever that is

As there's no way of turning off bluetooth like if playing on a PS.

I’ve just bought the Razer Wolverine V2 it feels great nice and smooth sticks nice soft rubber tops to them so it’s grippy on my thumb. Played my two CC rounds and asked Scott to check them with the api which he’s done and cleared it for play. My results are much more consistent and being wired it’s got rid of the wild swings so far if I hit a slow or a fast I know it.

Great to hear it Les, I was looking at that controller too before going eSwap, I’d always be surprised if the expensive aftermarket controllers fail API tests as they’re designed with very accurate and sensitive sticks, whilst the issues tend to come from cheaper models. Wishing you happy golf now you’re free from random Xbox tempos!

I tried the eSwap but the rubber top to the stick felt to hard and slippy for my thumb so I returned it and bought the Razer, the thumb sticks feel so much better and so smooth to swing. I am using a little bit of the intent to get my swings close to perfect though.

I am comparing the DS4 vs Razer Wolverine Ultimate vs Razer Wolverine V2.
DS4 best swing path, but having trouble getting the timing calibrated, so I can end up with fasts and slows that are a little unpredictable. I overclocked to 1000 mhz and its definitely playable.
Wolverine Ultimate I need to focus on swing path as it is more sensitive than DS4, but the timing is better. Like I can get a swing that is barely slow 80% of the time.
Will try the V2 shortly tonight. Leaning towards the Ultimate as the sticks and controller feel so nice.
