Is it worth overclocking the ds5 wired controller for a pc player? are there tangible benefits or are we talking about a placebo? 4 x faster response / poll rate. Pretty tangible. There are videos tagged in this thread if you read back through that pretty much explain it all. Ty yes I have read everything, some say that with the oc the controller becomes more fluid but also more sensitive, therefore easier to understand the fast and slow but more difficult to manage, this was my doubt

As I'm wired, my max speed is 250hz on PS5 - can't be overclocked. I'd love that to be 1000hz wired (as possible on PC), but c'est la vie.

I'm on pc, ds5 wired updated to the latest firmware and overclocked at 4ms 1000hz. I can get 1ms only at 8000hz but I've seen more people who manage 1ms at 1000hz don't understand why I can get 1ms only at 8000hz?
I can get: 4ms at 1000Hz 2ms at 4000Hz 1ms at 8000Hz
Somebody else?

After playing this game on PS4 for years, I actually made the switch to the PC version as I just got a new PC a few weeks back. Unfortunately, I can't get used to play this game with a mouse, so I plugged in my (stock) PS4 controller. One question before trying to get things started (again)...
Is there a big difference between a PS4 (which I have) and a PS5 controller when playing on PC?
I'm actually thinking about buying a new DS5 controller... but before I do so, I'd like to be sure there's gonna be a (noticeable) difference.
PS: Greetings to all those members still here and remembering my name...

PS: Greetings to all those members still here and remembering my name... I had an old PS4 controller but the stick is getting loose so bought a PS5 controller and just can't get used to the right stick. Bought a new PS4 controller and my tempo is the best it has been in any of the HB golf games. You might get on with the Dual Sense 5 and it is a great controller and worth having for games that support it's features on PC but that right stick feels just a bit too stiff for me for this game, the new Dual Shock 4 I bought is just perfect for me. There is quite a different feel to the sticks on DS4 and DS5 and it is about which stick feel you like most. With the DS4 I place the middle of my thumb on the stick, with the DS5 I have to kind of hold the front of the stick to get any consistency but it can also be way off for tempo out of nowhere and it doesn't feel like I am replicating the same movement where it's the opposite with the DS4 which feels a more fluid stick movement and most importantly consistent.

Okay, thanks! Sounds like I won't need a new controller, as I really like the feel of the PS4 controllers.
One more question about wiring the controller: Is it fine to use the regular cable that comes with the Playstation, or are there any better options available?

If I manage to somehow get into the game again... well, maybe... never say never!

Any Micro USB cable will do including the one you got with your PS4.

Just putting an update here, based on my own situation, and my original post.
My DS5, while wired, does great. I rarely get a "very" anything, and when I do, I know I did it, and why it happened. Most of my tempo issues were solved, when I replaced my Xbox elite with the DS5.
That said-
I wanted so bad to run it wireless as I hate cords.
My first issue was that it wouldn't even connect on Bluetooth. I solved that by getting an external Bluetooth thing to plug in USB from Amazon. It worked, but the DS5 still wouldn't see it. I got a USB extension cable, and put the bluetooth thing where it had line of sight to my chair, and it worked perfectly after that. I did not think Bluetooth needed line of sight, but hey, the proof is in the pudding. The adapter is less than 5 feet from where I sit, and moving it up above the desk by only 3 foot higher solved that problem. The desk is wood, not made of lead. LOL
Now that bluetooth was working, a second issue then was realized. I could not keep the controller charged, without plugging it in the USB. So I ordered a DS5 charger, and just kept running it USB for the time being. It was before Christmas, so Amazon said they were out of stock and would be about a month. I got the charger about a week before Christmas. Put everything on bluetooth, and the charger worked great.
But- Running my DS5 wirelessly, over bluetooth, which was not functioning perfectly, made a mess of my game.
I have no idea why, but when I run my DS5 over bluetooth, I suddenly went back to XBox style tempo issues, perhaps EVEN WORSE. I mean, I was getting random very fasts and very slows again, and all the time, and no idea why. Totally messed up my game.
So I have consigned to turn bluetooth back off, and am just playing the game with a DS5, hooked up with a USB cable. Once I did that, tempo went right back to perfects and the grey area, blacks here and there, "very fast or slow" only when I slip and know that I've done it wrong.
Not sure why, but thats what my experience with this has been.
