After seeing a video by xGDOG on YouTube (sorry can’t share the link)I’m wondering how the tours and designers are going to cope with this I’m expecting courses over 8000 yds or ribbon thin fairways. He’s had the game less than a week and hitting bombs and not missing many fairways is this what you all wanted. No reflection on his video though I thought it was great apart from the extra distance off the tee. Doyley

Doyley did mention that driving is a little bit easy. I don't want a golf game where hitting 350 yard drives is a breeze. We do need a challenge with the longest stick in the bag. For me 2K21 mmster swing difficulty was spot on for driver off the tee difficulty. On pro it seemed the only way to miss a fairway is if I was aiming poorly. Going to jump straight into legend and maybe give master a try also. Pro looks even easier to hit straight in 2K23.

Great update, thanks. Could we get some feedback on RUMBLE? Can it be turned off in difficulty?

Legend should be the True sim tour with aiming marker off , there's your real test and probably stop the Play station brigade hitting 40 to 60 under . Top players on tgc tours should be hitting -5 to - 10 and on true sim tour should be hitting even to - 5 . There's your realistic looking leaderboards unfortunately for some it's a case knuckling down and learning remember it's a competitive society and for the casual player it's the beer league

Maybe I'm misunderstanding but from Doyleys write up it seemed like he suggested from initial impressions that legend in 2k23 plays somewhere between pro and master in 2k21. Tee to green at least.

Doglegs, hazards, narrowed fairways. I say, make these courses sub-7,000 yards from the tips. If you make courses 8,000 yards, players who focus on accuracy over power are penalized. One of the toughest and most well-liked IRL courses I play in my area (Apple Mountain) plays 6,300 yards from the tips.

Anyways I wonder if it's like 21 where the difference in your misses are increased as you go up the difficulties - Pro is less penal than Legend for example so hitting the same spot on both (say grey fast), Legend will hook more than Pro, and so on down. Yep that's what I'm getting. I need to be seeing some Legend gameplay. With these wider forgiveness zones yet small perfects, I'm getting a buzz that Legend is the way to go for good outcomes of your swing and not being so overly frustrating like in 21 where the zones were so small that shaping was a no go.

Ok cool. That's explains why it's so easy to hit fairways and bombs then. Master and Legend both need to be fully tested in pre-season rounds on here after launch to see what is best.

Respawn mentioned he had some Legend rounds recorded so we’ll see them in the coming days.

Is.there any videos up with people playing Legend difficulty yet. Haven't seen any yet. Nice to see that Seamount put up a PC graphics settings video and there are tons more than in 2K21. HDR is supported in this game and should be on consoles also. Much more shadow and lighting options so can see why streamers have said the lighting is better. Should scale well to different PC's also. Finally some upscaling with DLSS and AMD's FSR but only FSR 1.0 which is disappointing.

Agreed, it’s not the actual length of 8000 that will make a difference, it’s how the new courses are designed - if the designer makes hazards from 280 to 350 very penal, the can force all golfers to play to 260 safely or take a risk for a shorter approach, this can all be done on a 7300 course easily. In fact, I used to be attached to a club called West Hill in Surrey (published in gane as West Hill Golf Club 2k21) and you can’t over power that course despite it being 6400 par 69, on most holes you have to lay up at 250-260, doesn’t matter if you have to hit driver or 3 iron, the design dictates the strategy to the player, that’s the art of timeless design as opposed to just adding length and there’s a load of amazing fictional designers on here who will do just that
