That’s disappointing that the series X visuals are poor, is it playable on fidelity mode & how does that look compared to 2k21..? I would say it's not playable personally. And it defaults to fidelity. I actually restarted the game at first thinking my console was lagging. It's really stuttery on that mode. Edit: fidelity looks good but obviously the animations etc suffer from lack of frames. So TGCTours will be PS and PC centric once again....

I think it'll take a constant roar of feedback from the community as a whole I don't participate in the developer provided forums. Are the newer 2K forums any better in taking critical feedback? I know in the HB days they were fairly rigid in not taking negative and/or critical takes against them.
The overall arc (IMO) is that deep down 2K is wanting to move forward with each release being more friendly with making in game purchases for actual money a thing for their games.
I think the best feedback route these days is Twitter to be honest. Twitter and tags can get attention quite quickly.

Totally understand that - and that's how I feel too. Just need to nudge a popular buddy to post for you haha!

Definitely dropping frames in both performance & fidelity but more so in cut scenes.

www.xbox.com/play/media/82D3MYBAJust for a reference on how out of focus the visuals are in the distance. I've been pleasantly surprised so far. I really like the short game changes, bunkers are hazards again, the swing feels responsive on all shots, putting is absolutely fantastic. The balls are a massive issue but as it is I'm pretty happy that if it comes to it I will easily get my money's worth just from private matches with the guys. I just really hope the patch performance mode visuals. They are absolutely rotten on Series X. Was the "Depth of Field" setting on or off in that screen you grabbed? I know on the last two titles in this series, DOF defaulted to "On". In both cases I found that turning DOF helped a lot with overly blurred objects beyond 75 yards. EDIT: After seeing an XBox Series X frame rate performance video elsewhere, it looks like there's not an option for DOF in the graphics setting menu. In fact, there are only three options there. I did see one new item called Screen Space Global Illumination (SSGI). It didn't look like it was imposing much of a performance hit when it was on from what I could tell.Did the swing feel any different, better or worse, than 2K21 when you were in performance mode?

Definitely dropping frames in both performance & fidelity but more so in cut scenes. As a Series X owner, this is a bit disturbing to watch. I know it's a 1080p, compressed You Tube video, but with the game in "Quality" mode, the game seems to have trouble maintaining a solid 30 FPS, at times. I can't really make a call on how the graphics really stack up in Quality mode because the media displaying it is limited to 1080p. I can't play 2K21 at 30 FPS any more, and if they hadn't added the option to change the vsync rate to 60 Hz in 2K21, I'd have quit playing it a year and a half ago. I just don't understand removing the graphics options in this game that previous versions offered. There are no AA options, no SSAO, no Depth of Field... SMH. And here I was wanting an option added to the vsync choices to turn turn it off so the Series X could use its Variable Refresh Rate feature. Dream on Pollyanna!

I don't think I've seen it posted here, so was hoping for some clarification. The bit I'd seen elsewhere/in videos only was some vague "oh you get some coins for completing a round as well as for leveling up". Well, how is the experience per round/level, and how does all this relate to the cost of these golf balls?
In the last game, I don't know how close it was, 80% of a level per round? Assuming I'm playing all rounds with a non-default golf ball, would I still be gaining coin, bleeding coin, or is it relatively close so that the extra bonuses/challenges + first time play for a course will make you break even? It's probably a rare TGCT week when I put in less than 12 rounds, so just for stuff herein, that's already a lot I've got to burn through especially if each round is at a loss.

I've only played two rounds so far, the other balls cost 350 VC or thereabouts I think for a sleeve, pretty sure levelling up nets 250, so I suppose unless you lose 2 or 3 of them in one round you're ahead. I might take more notice later when I have another go at it.

It is the first setting I turn off on PC as it is just a camera effect and I prefer a more natural look. Why there is no option to turn it off on Xbox is just stupid.

Seems like you have since got your answer but just to confirm yeah you can't toggle depth of field on performance now. In fact if you go performance mode you can't toggle anything. Massive backwards step there. And it doesn't hit a solid 60fps despite how bad it looks. Incredible really. Even though on performance dropped frames are rare at least. The swing feels absolutely fine to me. The new animations call for a much snappier back and forth on the analogue stick but I really like it. The animation on partials will take some getting used to but that's too be expected. I don't think it's bad or anything. I liked everything except the visuals (which are just SO bad) and all this stuff with the consumables. The actual gameplay is fantastic. Edit: And that SSGI mode is locked off on performance unfortunately...
