Maybe some of the shaping and lofting goes too far but some of the flight and bounce physics are greatly improved, I only use a minimum of loft and shaping so won't effect my game. I agree there are arcade elements like skills that I probably won't use anyway. I don't like the leveling up your golfer, would rather just pick a archetype and stick with it. But talking about arcade is it possible to get more arcade that 2K21's splash from heavy rough and short chipping. The scrambling in 2K23 looks massively improved as does rollout on greens. It’s impossible to say the scrambling is more challenging until we see it with a 1/1 swing. At the moment the lag is making the short game more difficult than it was designed to be. Chipping needs to be a one to one swing

The scrambling is more challenging as shots under 25 yards now are partial shots. 2K21's cycling through clubs for full shot splash and chips was not only totally unrealistic but made the short scrambling game extremely easy where 5 chip ins a round wasn't uncommon. Bunker shots also look much more difficult than 2K21 which again was pretty easy to get up and down from.

I think what Gasman is saying is that, as it is right now as seen in the YouTube videos, is that the swing is not matching the power bar, which in turn is making chips/putts play even harder than intended, as they are not a 1:1. I think Respawn showed in one of his videos that the animation doesn't start until you move the bar back about 20% of the total power. Yes, you'll still have to hit partial chips inside 25 yards, and the short game will be more challenging because of that. But when the swing is a 1:1 with the power matching up to the animation, we will at least be able to get better tempo on the chips/putts than all the "Very Fasts" being shown in the content offered up to this point.

That’s what I’m saying the partials are looking more difficult because the swing isn’t 1/1 which is hugely emphasised on the shorter analog movements.

Partial are more difficult even with a 1/1 believe me as I have been playing them for 2 years with pitch shot. Now if you use swing meter or vibration you take a lot of that difficulty away but then where is the challenge. Personally I think the fact there is a delay makes it easier for short chips/putts not harder. All in all it is about judging avatar backswing/stroke length and that takes practice and eventually muscle memory. We will see but I will hit the chipping and putting greens first thing when I load up the game.

As is your bringing the stick back 25% of it’s potential movement & the golfer animation is still at address. It’s gonna be a lot easier when they fix that for sure.

I dropped out of the TGCT after moving to pro as it totally ruined the tours for me. My hope is there are flights tied to whatever setting people want to play. Though i get that that's big work.
My other question - is there a difference in the game from PS4 to PS5? I want to buy for PS4. Will the tours accept all consoles?

I would assume that will still be the case.

After hearing of all the possible issues with 2k23 from the influencers I was skeptical on a preorder. However, I noticed yesterday the GB's nearly doubled when I looked in the xbox store. So it's done, I went and slapped down $120 on the top version. Looking forward to Tuesday.

I know other sport games have become unrecognizable compared to next gen.

Think it will only be slightly better on next gen.

On series X i have both versions with the recent purchase. I suppose I can use the lesser version on the one x if I so choose.

Let it Rip!I’m on the fence with 2K23 until I see some opinion on XS version but noticed the standard edition for base hardware is less than 10GB which is as expected but the XS comes in at 21GB. Should be a marked difference between the two but I’m not buying until I’ve seen it running.

I made the mistake of pre-downloading both versions.
