It's more to do with you can't fit in the crowds the R&A would want for an event, its why they have moved the Open from Royal Lytham to Royal Liverpool just because more crowds can get in there. On the Subject of prestwick love these new pins they have installed over the weekend lets hope these are in the designer instead of a new cart shed.On Scoring and club length it's more to do with the weather pro's play many links courses in good weather expect low scores, only defence is the weather and wind really these days or like the 150th open placing pins in crazy places.

There brand new this weekend, never seen them there before.
Muirfeld 2002 i think worst weather i can remember for a while at the open.Don't think it going to happen in 2k23 but really the game needs more dynamtic weather be nice to play in wet conditions then it to dry as the round goes on.

Ya dynamic weather would be pretty cool.
Hahaha just watched that video, those guys are nuts for playing in that but I guess they get paid well and the tournament must go on. Here in Saskatchewan, we definitely get our share of wind. It's hard enough trying to get your ball to go 175 yards like you want without having to deal with a 30km wind on top. I've had the wind move my ball on greens on a couple occasions before. But you add the rain on top of that and forget it. Makes their scores even more remarkable playing in those conditions.

yeltzmanI played your 149th Open course (St. Georges), man what a fun links! I love the undulations of the entire course. It's a roller coaster trying the keep the ball in play and hit your spots off the tee. If you miss your approach, it punishes you with some pretty difficult putts and chips. I've always thought it's the best links in England and I played a version awhile back, not sure if it was yours or not, but this version just took it to a whole new level. Such a fun course.

Previous Version was Pre Lidar (but i feel it was decent using GPS guide),149th Open was used using 2020 Lidar.Had to add to a few greens like they extended the front of the 6th green but they did not put a pin there, same with the 18th Glad you enjoyed it.i just Love playing the pin positions from the events of course you can never fully recreate it how the physics are but 149th and 150th Open i feel its as close as you can get it at the moment. As always thankyou for the kind words and glad you enjoyed it, like i have said many times only make them for myself and if others like them just a bonus. I like to play without the Scout cam so having the guides and overhead in game suits me how i play. Hoping to do a 2012 open at Lytham how the course was, and 2013 at Muirfield in the next couple of months 2021 Open Pin Positions.

There is a version in 2k21 link below playable version not the most accurate around the greens i reckon, same designer who designed royal county down, unless you know certain things about the course 99% of players will know no difference so a decent design. www.tgctours.com/Course/Details/23869i did design it for tgc1/tgc2/tgc 2019 thought a Lidar version be better for 2k21/23 Would have released a lidar version in 2k21 but the above version is popular also the greens a couple of them are unplayable at 187 in 2k21 lets see what 2k23 brings.Round one/ two from the 2013 open so many complaints about the pin positions i can see why in game when i played them more due to the heatwave conditions 2013 was played in.15th in round Two one of the worst pins in open history 66 bogies and 15 double bogies at that hole.

Just played Ganton, loved it - great work! Did notice that the covers were still on the cricket pitch despite the weather being fair - really ought to let the groundsperson know so they can get them off! The pitch will be sweating under there!

Looking forward to playing another Yeltzman course. How would Ganton be categorised ?? It's neither links nor parkland nor heathland right ?? Would it be an inland links ?? I remember as a young kid receiving one of my first golf books (World Atlas of Golf ??) and there was Ganton, an anomoly amongst all the great links courses of the British Isles. I was intrigued! And I agree with paddyjk19 get those covers off quick smart!

I would Class it as a Inland Links, Gorse was added after the initial Layout, There are slowly removing the gorse from the course and in a few years i reckon won't be much of it left.
More Famous for its fast greens and the deepest bunkers i have designed on a UK course. Only thing i found it seems a lot of the bunkers are hidden of the tee really need a course guide or at least check the overhead map.
Worth a Watch if you enjoy the course Gold Tees, with it being a private club not much info to go on. The first assistant green keeper helped a little.

LOL Designed for console players without the flyover cam......You PC players look for things which should not be seen close up the jimgem experience i call it. Just noticed it has reached consoles giving it a go now, always interesting 1st play how it looks on console.
