Walden Ridge is my entry for the 2022 National Treasures contest. ** Now Available in 2k23 **Located in the Appalachian Mountains of East Tennessee, specifically the Blue Ridge Mountain area, Walden Ridge comes in at a par 72 laid out across 450 acres of diverse terrain, playing at 7500 yards from the back tees. The front nine of the golf course works its way down the ridge, while the back nine is an out-and-back with water nestled throughout. Golfers will play around two large gulleys and several sprawling rock faces showcasing the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge topography. As Tennessee is the most biodiverse inland state, Walden Ridge features a variety of flora and fauna and has an abundance of forested areas (forests cover 52% of the state's land area). Enjoy your round! Having no real sense of what I should expect from Tennessee at the outset, after spending quite some time exploring the region (virtually), I decided on the general look and feel based on the topography of East Tennessee (The state is geographically, culturally, and legally, divided into three Grand Divisions of East, Middle, and West Tennessee, hence the three stars on the state flag). After all is said and done, I hope that I was able to at least somewhat reflect the diverse topography and natural beauty of the area—I took quite a bit of visual and topographical inspiration from The Golf Club of Tennessee, and tried to showcase the sprawling mountains, scaling rock faces, beautiful waterways, as well as the "blue" fog at high altitudes which gives the Blue Ridge Mountains area its name. Cheers, and good luck to everyone in the competition!

Good job here Lucus. I enjoyed my round a lot. The enviornment was well crafted, felt extremely realistic. I liked how you played with blindness both on mounds and trees if you choose the bail out portion fo the fairway. It is a strategy element a bit undercut in this game but still one done nicely here. Also the way the creek was used on the last few holes worked really well for a good closing stretch. Good job!

Nice little track. Enjoyed my round. Good designs I thought and liked the use of camber if you did miss your shot it made the next shot more difficult as it should. Good luck in the contest!

Thanks bud, was fooling around with this new-ish feature in Photohop's pen tool, and was able to create a unique little shape there.

I like the logo, as well...it actually looks like an illustration of Table Mountain/Lion's Head/Devil's Peak in Cape Town, South Africa, too. I am looking forward to giving this one a play soon!

Updated OP with promo video, which was my first attempt at something like this. Used OBS to capture then edited in Premiere. Some frame rate flickering I couldn't get past on a few of the clips...

I ran across this and since I actually live in the Blue Ridge Mountains, I had to give it a play the other night. Now I'm not in Tennessee, I'm across the line in western NC. But its the same general area.
I think you did a great job capturing the look and feel of this area. Especially standing on the tee boxes, the views you have, looking out over the fairway, is exactly what I would expect to see. That view of rolling hills and an occasional rock face mountain is pretty much standard, and you captured it perfectly.
The only hole I questioned was #10. I was looking at the whole course from a 'does this look like the mountains?' perspective, and something just didn't feel right on that one. I finally think I nailed it. Its the rock face on the side of the river. Now you do actually see that quite here and there, but when you do, its both sides. I don't remember being anywhere around here and seeing a river with just one side like that. Its a lot of gorges where it cuts more like big ditch, or miniature canyon type feel. All of the other water is spot on.
Thats not say 10 wasn't a good hole, it was! I enjoyed the hole layout, and the beauty, just giving you perspective on what I noticed in the realism part.
But that was the only thing I noticed. Again, great job. enjoyed the beauty of the course, it made me feel exactly like I was playing in the mountains, and I enjoyed the playability of the course, it was fun and satisfying to play.

Thanks for that feedback, nice to hear I pulled it off even a little! The look for #10 (and the idea of that ridge line) was taken from the golf club of Tennessee seen below... cheers! 🍸
