Dear TST enthusiasts,
This is the week of the 150th Open at the home of golf - St. Andrews. And obviously, that’s where we’re heading too -CLV’s recreation of this course.
Thursday is scoring day this week; after that the wind gets up, especially on Saturday.

Last few months, my distance control has gotten worse and worse. Likely due to me looking at the controller while swinging and loosing the feel for what is 100% - also don’t use that rumble thing.
So, with the switch to the PS5 and having to relearn the game anyway, I thought this would be a good time to switch to watching the screen instead of the controller while swinging. First round was a disaster (Plat round, so who cares 😂) but I’m slowly starting to get used to it (a bit). Work in progress, but enjoying the challenge of trying to relearn how to play.

Opened with a -9 I think (shellshocked so I'm not sure how good my memory is). What's not to love about this week's course. Trying to stagger my rounds a little to see if that helps my shambles of a game.

Last Week
True Sim Tour
A solid -21 was only good enough for a 77th placed finish. Now means I’ve dropped to 200th in the World Rankings after starting the season 119th. Only
played four events all season though, so hopefully form will start to develop from now on…
Hogan Flight
First event on the Hogan flight was a solid 11th placed finish. Hoping to kick on this week…

Dreadful round. Couldn’t get used to the green speeds even though they were the same as round one. Bizarre. Kept slagging them by. Three putted at least four times. Just about got used to them near the end of the round…and then left a putt 2-inches short. I love golf. Lol.
PS…the wind was lying. Same strength on the meter as round one. Swear my meter is broken lol.
PPS…I believe I’m even par thru 4 on the par-5s. I’m awesome.
PPPS…just managed to get a very slow somehow off the tee on number 1 and end in the burn. 100 yard wide fairways. Tough as hell. Wish me luck.

Just not good enough around here. One silver lining is that I birdied one of the par-5s for a change. I also got a very slow off the 18th tee somehow, just like the 1st, the force is glitchy in that area. At least I didn’t end up in the road.
As for the road hole…hit that small ass greenyside bunker twice out of thrice attempts. Whoops.

Bloody -4 first round after getting to -5 after 9 holes 🤦🏻♂️
Didn't start the back 9 that well. On 10 I hit the flag with the pitch shot in and it rebounded about 8 metres away, then hit the putt too hard, bogey. Another stupid one on the next hole and a few holes later. A couple of birdies as well but pretty ordinary overall. Hopefully round 2 is better.

These greens are very challenging, I must have missed ten putts under 10 feet the first two rounds. Finished up -6 after two, despite having really solid tempo.
But I get kerflummoxed on 150-ish greens with grids, so I'm not completely surprised.

Finally played my first round this afternoon 😁.
Got to minus three on the front nine and picked up one more birdie on the back nine 😀.
Unlucky on some birdie putts just missing the hole 😕.
Lovely rendition of the golf course 👏👏.
