Why can I not pick up the society in new game? Hey terwyl nice to see you back Hi Danny I did not realise that you were still playing. I have been here and in 21 all along, just not improving very much.

In view of discussions on the forums about the unreliability of the driving Range in the game to give results that transfer to an actual round on a course, as well as my personal experience with it I decided to try something.
I created and published a course named "Flat five" which consists of 18 drivable par fours and is 6000 yards. The course is absolutely flat including the greens, and consists of nothing but fairway and green. I play using TGCTour settings with Master difficulty with exception of using the putting meter to speed up the game. I also set the wind speed to none.
Since Tempo/timing is my big bugaboo this course is what I use to practice that aspect of the game, and it has seemed to help me (if not as rapidly as I would like). Fast-forwarding through all the golfer reactions and ball flights you can finish 18 holes in under 10 minutes (less if you managed to have 18 perfect drives and don't have to hit approach shots - I am not there yet lol.
Hope this helps some of us tempo-challenged Challenge Circuit players.

Flat greens? Who can I deflect the blame onto then when I miss 6 footers?

Generally driver and irons ok ( ish) but pitching....oh boy.

Having scores yo-yo in Career mode is not uncommon. I had a run one season where I went like win-100th-win-100th-win. Some of the courses simply do not run well in that mode. I've played a couple of those courses outside of Career and they seemed ok, but maybe those were the ones that actually are smooth, I don't recall. There's no variation of difficulty of course/conditions in there that would make that seem normal. This game I actually left the vibration on for about half a dozen levels. I tried, but I don't like it at all. When I first turned it off, I still would activate it for some particularly nasty partial shots, but I've just kind of largely phased partials out of my game. You said you're mostly playing Career, but have you the same tempo issues outside of it? I'll still have my swing fall into a slump at times and maybe for an entire round, but those I can generally "feel" how my swing is misaligned rather than tempo roulette. Did you experience the horrible pin placement at East Lake on Hole 1? I was the leader of the FedEx and after Hole 1 dropped to 9th with my (+10 or whatever the mercy rule is) Tiger then blew right past me for the rival points.

East Lake 1, Riviera 11, one of the pins on the donut green (forget if it's Riviera's or San Antonio's), Quail (forget the number, but there's a "that's on the green?") all come to mind. There's probably more just in career mode/official courses, but I only really have seen the 1st pin set. Some get silly on green speeds above the 130s, others are "dude, you did not seriously cut a hole there". I'm not good at this game, but some of these there's just nothing to shoot at and/or no room for error.

I play masters but pro in career. Win every tournament and get your sponsor stuff and your fittings that drop from beating rivals every time. Level 36 and pig sick of career grind in truth. Dont like the skills tree but like the fittings part. I've used no other ball than default. Got over 50 different ones but dont understand them so they're locked in my man shed.

Been done with everything for a while. I do need to sit down some day and sort out my fittings and distances because while I do have purple or orange in all slots, at least half are kind of "well, that was the best I had at the time" and never really got something worth spending on that wouldn't be easily replaceable. I've got about 10 orange and 40 purple that aren't equipped, so I can really target certain pieces with upgrades/trades. I don't have a hybrid in my bag at the moment and my putter is "good enough" so I'm probably only really worried about 8 slots right now.
Not sure if I said it in here, but I'd really suggest just trading up any fitting that is below purple unless you're desperately in need of using a blue as a spot-filler for a little while. The gap between purple and orange is smaller than the one between purple and blue, so you can do very well without needing orange everywhere. If you don't know how, when you go to exchange, there's a toggle (Triangle on Playstation) to change it from picking which you want in the tier versus getting a random one of the tier higher.

have over 20 oranges

Went through the grind on master, playing 2 rounds per competition. Was sat nicely at the top of Fedex rankings but got screwed over at East Lake. Managed to get up to level 47/48 through career but have since maxed out. Played the whole career with the default ball but now looking like the friction ball is my go to ball in the future.
In terms of fittings, one more orange head to get for my woods and then I am fully kitted out. Happy where my player stats are but suppose there will always be room for improvement if the right fitting comes along.

Only have 6 oranges but quite happy with purples and loathe to trade, possibly will if I get a sh!t load more. Only have an orange on putter so next step swap 3 spare purples for purple putter fitting and so on.
Level 35 and not really doing a lot with skills tree and only used default balls, that will probably change.
