Dear TST enthusiasts, This week is major week! The IRL PGA Tour course isn't available, so I'm taking you to a Tom Fazio course in Arkansas: Alotian Club. Obviously, given that this is a major and you guys score about -100 every week, I thought about very high winds, very fast and rock solid greens and fairways, some glass cups and phantom breaks, scary animals chasing you, and more...  Ultimately, however, I decided to not make a mockery of this major and this beautiful course. The course is challenging and there's a stiff breeze from various directions but nothing silly. Greens are firm and fast but not silly fast. So, scores might be low but should prove a fair test on a course that is major-worthy test in itself. Good luck and have fun! 61 to get going this week, could have gone lower after going out in 29 but got a bit loose with the approaches in the back 9 and only managed two birdies and an eagle. I do have the solo lead on the in game leaderboard which I'm sure won't last once the other sharp shooters play their rounds but I'll enjoy it for now 😜
I like this course, it's nice to be able to see the layout of the hole from the tee. The 14th reminds me of the 15th hole at a local course here, very similar layout aside from the creek splitting the fairway, the bunkers and the local one is a par 4, but from the tee really similar look.

So after a less than impressive opening 2 rounds and another certain missed cut I shuffled off to the bar to drown my sorrows for another week. Bumped into Art Art Vandelay He said, rather excitedly I might add, "HAVE YOU SEEN THE NEWS?!!!" I told him "no, Happy Hour from 6pm hopefully so I can drink myself into oblivion". "FLIGHTS" he said, now drooling at the mouth. "WE GOT TST FLIGHTS" Seriously" I said? "Yep" he responded. "Hold my beer I'm heading back out" I said!! Fantastic to play the final 2 rounds and know they'll count for something. Thank you skoader and the Admin for putting a phenomenal amount of their own time into providing something for us masses to enjoy. As for the scores Art, here's your target. Won't test you much but at least with the shackles off I made a better fist of Rounds 3 and 4. Onward!!!  |

Not sure where this came from, but definitely picked the right week to start off good (for me)..... -7 -5 = -12 after 2 rounds. Looking forward to playing all 4 rds for a change.  |

Still experiencing inexplicably erratic tempo but at least I was able to control my anger for the first three rounds; could and should have been better but not as horrible as the last few weeks…
Round 1: -9

Round 3: -10

First time back at TST for a few months -6,-7,-4,-6 for -23 and within 9 shots of Horus over the moon with that as they say in football.

I managed to get my way to -40.
I'm not sure what that means in the Palmer flight.
I liked the course and it's set up.

Only the one round for me at the moment but astonished to be at -9. Privileged to be brushing shoulders with the big boys. Have a feeling I will be brought back to reality after the 2nd tonight.

67 second round to sit -16 at the halfway point. Couldn't get my swing tempo or plane going that well this round.

Third round 65 to sit at -23 with one to play. Misjudged a few approaches but overall not too shabby.

Fair warning to all virtual golfers out there on the course this week (even though very late warning): you hear coughing from a mile away, you know where I'm at. Add in the curses and you're got a storm being brewed up. I guess the positives I can take this week is that: 1. physical health from the rona is on a strong upswing currently (the cough being the last remnant that won't budge yet), and 2. perfect time for the cut to be eliminated since this week would have been the one that ended my run of consecutive made cuts. -6, -2 for -8 at the cut (or what would have been that). Can't hit a swing straight no matter how hard I try, and any few holes I play well I seem to follow up with a whole bunch of nothing. Strange how the fundamentals are there once things do go all the way as planned, but I can't seem to put much together at all right now and I'm genuinely lost about that. Oh well, already prepped to go from the very generous second flight placement (thanks for having faith in me whoever allocated me there) to the third. Don't know if the current state of everything in the game is that high a level for me right now. Let's see if I can somehow make some moves over the weekend rounds, everything's hit or miss right now so it could go any direction currently. Well, cheers and good luck. |
