This week we are off to Recreation Yard by freternick . This was his entry into the World Cup of Design and in my opinion it got robbed by early round judging results. I had this one going far and liked it quite a bit, but oh well, as a consolation prize the course gets its week in the sun on elite. Should be a fun week with manipulated tees, Mike Strantz design vibes everywhere, and views for days around this great golf course. Enjoy and good luck everyone! From the designer: Welcome to the "Recreation Yard". Originally the island served as a place for punishment. Out of line inmates, were shipped to the island and forced to dig the sand quarries by hand or shovel. This all changed when warden G.E.P. Strantz took over. Strantz believed in rewarding the good not punishing the bad. So with the help of the inmates, he designed and built the Recreation Yard. The prison has since closed and staff quarters converted into visitor lodging. P.S. as a bonus this week, for no good reason really, here are the conditions for the week in case anyone wants a practice round or two with the different sets of tees and winds, etc.

Good first round of -13 then blew it with a -7 in the second. Expecting to miss the cut by a single shot yet again but you never know.

Punishment certainly fits for me this week, opened with a 66, followed up with a 60 to be -18 at the cut. After that rubbish first round I pretty much just played to avoid possible demo marks as I'm not expecting to see the weekend.

Came out of my hiatus to erase one of my two red marks as long as I finish the week.
Expecting to finish as high as I currently stand is a tall task, and a realistic goal is to finish well enough to erase the other red mark.
Good luck too all with rounds left to play!

Ladies and gentlemen, we finally got it on the fourth attempt! Yes, finally didn't choke it away in round 2 and made it through the cut line. -14 round 1, entered having played okay but not great on my usual warmups so wasn't expecting much. After par on hole 1, tore up the course and went on a birdie spree from there. Eagle on 13 after a small gamble on the drive was the icing on it. Round 2 started off where it left off, but had a choke moment on 6 as I had one really bad tempo miss that found water, but survived with a bogey even though I needed to throw a 25 footer to save it. 9 birdies afterwards to push me to -12 on the round and -26 at the cut. Averaging over 80% on one putts so far with 20 and 20 putts on the rounds, so that maaaay have helped. Guess I needed to just wait patiently and then eventually I just bust through one of these cuts! Looking forward to actually playing meaningful weekend rounds again, haven't had those for about a month in these here tours and only in the True Sim world lately. So that's gonna be fun. Cheers, good luck!

Choke City calls my name again! -10 round 3, -8 round 4 and just shy of promo mark at -44. Consistently worse each round! Froze in place right at the end after an eagle on the 11th of R4 gave me a neat little boost. Think I hit 2 really bad shots this week, one found the water earlier and the other was saved for the 72nd. A very random seeming very slow off the tee that could have been worse than the heavy rough it actually found. Decent percent out of it and maybe able to save it, but unlucky bounce knocked me back into another rough patch and trying to hole out which provided not the result I wanted. Had a shot for more but just too much being little off which you can't afford here. Oh well, made a cut finally and put up a neat little fight this week. Now that I was able to get through that tougher patch once, let's go for it again next week. Cheers, good luck!
