I forgot to mention that both those putts were about 6 feet, they certainly weren't long ones Oh come on, that’s just sweet talk, I’m not falling for that… 😉

So were in the Mexican Open... in Louisiana... let's see, is it going to be an early celebration of Cinco De Mayo, or is it finally time for the Mardi Gras? Let's celebrate them both by smacking the same -8 in both rounds to sit at -16 at the cut. Nothing too fancy about it. Couple bogeys, one each round (second round on 18th from 4 feet!) and a single eagle on the 2nd of round 2. Something seemed strange about how I played, as if something seemed off so checked stats after 2 rounds. What do you know, round 1 proximity 14.8, round 2 proximity 13.1 feet. How, I'm not quite sure. Maybe some made chips, some near misses? All I know is it saves a lot of trouble with double or triple breakers when just a single breaker is tough enough! At least I'm not finishing with 0% long putts because I've sunken at least 1 both rounds. Setting okay pace for myself, putting is actually good on these greens even though I was a little nervous about how it was going to be. Reading "undulating" greens makes me think "oh, you get a few feet one way, few feet the other, then..." so the fact I can read these pretty well is encouraging so far. Plenty of time for screw ups still, but I can be happy for now and continuing my personal best streak of cuts made for another week. Good thing since I can't currently make even one cut in that other tour. Cheers, good luck!

Banged out round 3 last night as I figured to be making the cut easily. VERY solid 61 to be sitting in uncharted territory on the LB, might need a few tissues for my nosebleed.
Onward!

Shot a 59 third round to sit -28 after that and T21 currently. This could be my best tournament if I can do something similar in the final round.

Final round -7 tainted by 3 Humphs: 2-eth by land, one-eth by sea (two three jacks and went swimming short of the island green on 15).
Still pleased as can be with -39 for the week!
Onward!

Finally someone that acknowledges my hard work to find a course with greens that provide double and triple breaks!!! Oh I think it is a tough track, but tell that to the two at -28 after 36 holes! It is a unforgiving job you are doing Frans, but I appreciate you and your efforts. Onward! Some players are simply just too good for the game and it doesn't matter what you do. I've struggled lately but I'm still having plenty of fun. The greens are the least of my worries If only I could get to play the last 2 rounds for a reason!!

I'm gonna have a stern talking to my greenkeeping brethren at this course after those evil pins in round 4. Couldn't sink a damn thing and finished with a disappointing -4 to get to -32 for the week.

Pretty typical tourney for me - I thought I'd miss a lot of greens they were so thin at times and I did miss a bunch but it didn't matter too much. 66-66-67-67 (-22) probably good enough for 70th. As long as I make the cut I'm happy though I thought I'd do a little better.

Erase a couple water balls from round 3, and I might have had a week full of -8s. Instead, round 3 has the blip of a -5 but other than that, okay and down the middle average stuff for me in slightly differing conditions each round. Probably the happiest in a while over finishing -29 when there was so much more to grab, but finishing with quite possibly a career high 17 feet proximity to hole over the whole thing saving tons of guess work helped this week. What, with like 57% medium and around 15% long and all that... also added to my low eagle tally too in round 4, going from 1 to 2 so that was also nice. About where I usually am. Hovering near 50 or so. Gladly take it since this week could have gone towards the worse side but probably the weakest part of my game (getting shots close) got me through this week. So... yeah, that's a bit weird. Cheers, good luck next week.

Thank you so much for using my course, I live in Louisiana and replicated this course to give players a change of pace from playing TPC of Louisiana and you using it makes the MANY hours we spend doing them worthwhile! I loved reading your comments about your rounds, very interesting and I've been burned out from designing and reading your comments kind of got my creative juices to flowing again. This was my 3rd TW course and 2nd that's been used, Alotian Club LiDAR (t) was used on the Platinum tour ... Just need to get Diamante CC LiDAR played for the Trifecta www.tgctours.com/Course/Details/26104?PlayerId=42157Thanks again for the plays!!! I have the #1 course in La in the works, Squire Creek, it's a Fazio design and it's about 70% done. www.top100golfcourses.com/golf-course/squire-creek
