Dear TST enthusiasts, You might not know this about your scheduler yet, but he's geographically challenged. Combined with the fact that TPC Louisiana is not in the TGCTOURS database, this resulted in typing in New in the search function, hoping for something Orleans to pop up... Instead, New South Wales GC appeared and after playtesting it, because the pictures looked lovely and not thinking for a moment about the fact that this might be slightly further away from Avondale than... well... just about any other course in the database, there was no going back. I just hope you like it as much as I do, and surely it's still close enough to where the IRL PGA Tour plays this week... Have fun and good luck, Frans

Not much to do in Covid isolation so got through Plat and TST on a lazy Sunday Afternoon. Had a few brain fade moments in Rd's 2 and 4 but went -13, -13, -17, -10 for -53 total. Most enjoyable little course thanks for that. Cheers

Art Vandelay Not much to report here. -5 at the cut which signals another short lived tournament for me. I'm gonna credit my rival Ben for my incredible start this week. Chatting with him on steam after about the turn in round 1, I fired a 1 Humph -10 and -12 to be -22 at the cut! Can't explain how I did it, but it is there. I think I should make the cut (sheepishly happy about that). Onward!

I enjoyed this course. I'm at -5 after R2 as well. Had some good moments (2 eagles in R1) but plenty of bonehead putts to round that out. SkyBlueBen Art Vandelay

SkyBlueBen Art Vandelay Your game has made great improvements since we first played our Bloody Mary Cup match together, I am sure we are much closer in scoring now. Keep it up Paul! Onward!

First ever TST round happy with -2 for round 1, enjoyed the change from CC, any tips on reading them greens is very welcomed π Plenty more out there who know what they are doing that will be of more assistance but I'll try and help. Simple thing that helped me as a complete amateur in this is to look at the flagstick. Gives you an indication of the lie of the land between you and the flag. Helped me at least get under par regularly. Uncompetitive but under par!!

I use the flagstick in the same way, it usually works unless some muppet cuts the pin in a spot where the flag leans but the putt is straight, or vice versa. π
I also play with 2 or 3 ghosts with turn order on, it takes longer but you can get looks if your ball is on their line. Also if they have reasonably close putts on the perpendicular, the elevation change between their ball and the hole is a clue which way the slope goes. I also use the triangle to get that close up ground level camera behind the ball, to see where it is in relation to the golfer's feet. You can usually see if it's above or below.
These are mainly of use with the shorter putts. The really long ones I just make a somewhat educated guess. It isn't easy though, unfortunately on a TV/computer screen you can't really see the slopes or walk around and feel it, a bit like watching golf on TV.

Round 1: -15 Round 2: -11 Feels weird to be disappointed with -26 halfway but I am... just cannot keep up with you low-scoring monsters...

SkyBlueBen twofor22 Thanks for the tips guys much appreciated, will give that a try in round 2 π It may be a given but I'll mention the approach and putting camera should be on so you can get all the different angles for reading the lights and shades of the green along with the tilt of the hole and the tilt of the putter. With that camera on, you can do what twofor22 said about the getting down low - I like to watch the ground as the camera drops down which can give hints about the tilt of the green in between you and the hole.

Have fun and good luck, Frans I've been doing a season on the side and I played one of the January Australian tournaments at New South Wales. It's definitely one of my favorite courses and I have yet to see another Louisiana course beside the TPC Louisiana the game has-that's a great course but not as fantastic as NSW and the overheads are a bit messed up with that TPC Lou.

I did enjoy this course, especially the first hole after I hit my drive to a few feet to start with an eagle. Couldn't keep it up that well though and ended with a 66. My mind wasn't in it properly for the front 9, and I stopped and came back later to finish off and actually concentrate on it properly π€£
